so this is the tribit stormbox blast 2 portable bluetooth speaker and i think right now this
is one of the biggest baddest and most powerful bluetooth speaker in the stormbox series
and today today we're gonna check it out and see if it can live up to the stormbox family name
so let's get inside let's see what's up
and uh yeah so that's what it looks like inside got some accessories here you got
ac and tribit quick start and setup guide and oh i think it's legit heavy let's just unwrap it
yeah so this is the blast 2 from tribit wow oh man yeah man this thing's heavy
it's really heavy i'm expecting it to uh it to blast like two times
i mean so far in my opinion this thing feels
really nice it feels like it was built with intention tribit know what they're doing they've
been doing this for a while and the material touch the feel it just feels really nice
very premium to the touch in my opinion the grill feels really good got some brandon tribit right
here and you got all the controls right here so from the from my right which is your left
you have the volume i mean the power indicator right here to show you how much power is inside
the power button right here bluetooth volume down you got play pause a volume up button right here
i got i think you have the lighting controls if you can see it right here and then right here you
have the x base so if the base that is this is pumping out is not enough for you you could tap
that button and then it's gonna give you more base i don't know why you'd want it but yeah
it's there and then this little infinity figure eight right here is possibly where you tap so you
could pair multiple of these tribit stormbox blasters together also for reference this thing
has a massive output of about 200 watts and you get about 80 watts dedicated to this massive
built-in subwoofer right here and 45 watt dual 45 watt mid-range drivers and then you also have
two 15 watt tweeters right here and this thing is being managed by an advanced ti amplifier that
is handling all the different channels as well as the dsp correction which we're gonna see how does
it work out and want to know how does this sound is it loud does it sound really good is the bass
pumping that's what we're here for and yeah and the rest of the stuff so and also on the back right
here you can see this thing is really versatile because when you pull this little flap right here
and get it open you can see that it supports multiple microphone input for karaoke parties
and you can adjust the different levels and also i think you can do echo with the karaoke so you
have the mic one mic two where you can adjust the different levels and you have aux in out right here
this little controller right here is for reverb when you're doing that karaoke i mean if you
notice right here you got the figure eight plug so you could plug it in via the figure eight and
the microphone inputs the aux input just in case you want to put your audio in via aux and then
over here you got a usb a and a usb type c you could charge it via type c as well as you could
charge it via the ac obviously if you're charging it via the ac cable that is provided it's going to
be a much faster charging than if you're using the type c because the type c right here is only
going to put in about five volts two amps which is not going to be enough power to fast charge this
it is a lot of power but not enough power to fast charge this so obviously going by the ac plug yeah
and i mean obviously you know this thing is definitely waterproof so if you want to stay
waterproof you got to secure this little flap right here what we got to do right here we got to
power it up connect my smartphone and then we got to do some sound demos man so we can know what
this thing sound like so i could tell you if this is the one you should spend your money on
or you should find something else and we definitely have some more stuff
so definitely stick around for that but yeah
all right you see the lighting effects right here a while ago obviously this right here
is for the lighting effects on off okay i think this also has an app that you could use to control
stuff so i'm definitely going to go ahead and connect my smartphone download the app
then we're gonna come back and do some sound demo yeah let you know what so i got my phone
paired up with the tribit stormbox blast 2 and uh yeah we're gonna play one of my favorite
non-copyrighted music by joakim karud it's sweet featuring casey got my microphone ready so let's
let's do that let's play it
here we go
yeah man that bass that bass be thumping man i see why they call this the blast
2 stormbox blast 2 that bass that bass be blasting boy yeah these are this little subwoofer right
here it's it's pumping out a lot these passive radios right here they're really putting in the
work man so what i'm gonna do i'm gonna go off camera i'm gonna test some copyrighted music some
of my favorite tracks obviously i can't do it on camera i might come back and show a little sample
of those but i'm definitely gonna test this out so i could come back with my final thoughts and
recommendations about this stormbox blast 2 and i'll let you know but it's a few seconds for you
it's a couple minutes for me or maybe a couple hours it could be a couple days who knows how
long i'm just gonna test this thing out so i can actually give you my true understanding of how this
thing performs so let go so i've been testing this one out for a little bit now and yeah so here are
my thoughts about this one i'm gonna just start off with some of the bad stuff and then just work
our way to the good stuff because i kind of really like this so the first thing that i noticed once i
started testing this out that the out of the box eq is not really for me but i do get it though i
understand why they would tune it this way because a lot of people prefer that party audio profile
i'm not a big fan of audio curve that just emphasize just the bass and the treble only
i kind of like a little mid-range in my sound but i get it though i do understand majority of
listeners out there will buy this thing they're gonna like that sound it's definitely gonna be
jamming the bass that this thing push is straight up op and i mean really overpowered but that's
also another thing that i know that a lot of bassheads is really gonna love about this one
is that the bass is really overpowered
do
For years what's good and let's talk about some of the good stuff here.
This thing is pumping out 200W of power when it's plugged in and about 180W when it's
on battery power with that dedicated subwoofer just pumping that bass.
And the companion app that you can put on your phone to connect to this thing and control
a lot of different aspects is the saving grace for this one, well at least as far as I'm
concerned.
And that is because you not only can control the lighting and customize how you want the
light to operate but you can also use some of the already pre-built EQs that they have
or you can go full manual control on the EQ settings which is one of the things that I
think is the best part about this app.
Because that is where you can really go in and just tweak this thing and make this speaker
sound exactly how you want.
I mean you're not going to get any audiophile sound coming out of it but at least you can
get a more refined sound especially in my case where I do prefer a little bit of mid-range
or a lot of mid-range, I like when that mid-range is pushed forward so you can get the vocal
quality and you get some of that nice separation which you probably won't experience with
this speaker in the regular configuration.
And yes you can definitely control almost every aspect of this speaker from the app
including just powering it down if you have it playing and you want to shut it off which
just goes to show that they put a lot of work into the app and by extension a lot of
work into developing this speaker which says a lot about what Tribit is doing.
For most people they are absolutely going to love the sound that this thing is producing
out of the box and I do think they are going to be absolutely blown the hell away with
the bass that this thing is pumping out of the box with just the regular preset EQ.
However for me I do prefer a little bit more refined sound so going inside the app and
kind of setting this thing is my happy place when it comes to the speaker because I kind
of like just tweak things the way I want, kind of push the mids up a little bit more
and keep a little balance between the bass and the treble so that it's not overpowering
but it sounds absolutely good.
It can definitely jam a backyard BBQ get together and chilling at the pool or at the beach or
just kicking it in the park, having a picnic you can definitely jam out with that especially
since it is dust and water resistant or I should say dust and waterproof, dust and waterproof
so it can definitely be protected so if you're outdoors and it starts pouring down as long
as you have this thick flap in the back where the ports are covered then it's covered which
is good.
Oh yeah I mean to forget the invention there's a couple more stuff that are possibly trade
offs that could be deal breakers to some people such as this thing is really heavy to take
around but I'm guessing once you reach your destination and you put it down and you start
jamming out who cares how heavy it is until we need to leave again but it's definitely
doable it's not that it's impossible to do you can definitely take it around but it's
just a lot of weight to be taking around.
That says a lot about battery and audio quality I mean the speakers and everything that is
inside also so I guess that's a good thing.
Another thing is I definitely got to warn you make sure you definitely don't lose this
AC adapter because that is the only way you could fast charge this thing when it's battery
is going down otherwise if you're trying to use the type C charging it's gonna be hella
slow so yeah if you want to fast charge this thing don't lose the AC charge power cord
that comes with it.
Personally I don't think any of the things that I mentioned so far are deal breakers
for most of the people who are looking at this speaker.
I might be a little picky about sound and audio quality and fidelity and stuff like
that but once you get that app and you tune that audio curve in the way that it matches
your listening style you're definitely going to have a lot of fun with this thing.
It sounds really good once you have an EQ to your preference or if you prefer one of
those preset EQs that come inside the app you're definitely going to have fun.
It is loud, powerful, the bass is OP straight up so if you're a bass head this is definitely
up your alley.
The build quality is solid plus it is dust and water resistant as I already mentioned
and you also can stereo pair two of these so if you have two of them or if you have
one and your friend have one and you're in the park and you want to jam out and have
that stereo sesh then you just pair the two of them and you can definitely have a lot
of fun with that.
Because it's going to be almost twice the power, twice the bass, you know just twice
the fun.
Plus I mean the party lights on this thing once it starts jamming out is definitely a
vibe and yeah the battery life is really good, superb battery life especially when you turn
the lights off and turn off that extra bass feature and you just jam out.
Once you have the bass and the lights turned off you definitely can extend that battery
life up to 30 hours on a battery only.
So for performance this one is definitely a little bit a cut above the rest.
I mean if you're looking at this one and you definitely consider it I could say with all
the things that I just said keep those things in consideration but I think it is definitely
a buy if you're just trying to get a nice heavy duty very high powered 200 watt output
crazy bass bluetooth speaker to take with you on the go.
And this one is definitely a tri-bit they did a really good job.
I mean if I forget anything else in this video definitely let me know down in the comment
section I could test it for you or if it's something that I already tested I could definitely
