The watching and waiting continues in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial. Today is the sixth day of
deliberations for the jury in the case. The judge pressed the jurors Wednesday to try to come up
with a verdict after they came back again saying they were struggling to reach one. Boston 25 News
reporter Ryan Breslin live at Plymouth Superior Court this morning where the jury has spent more
than 30 hours going back and forth. Ryan? Ray, that's right and in that time jurors have asked
just one question which the judge took care of during sidebar then they have sent two different
notes basically saying that they are deadlocked and cannot reach a verdict. The judge then
appearing to give his final instructions to members of the jury yesterday. Lindsay Clancy's attorney
says that he is preparing for any outcome including a mistrial. If that were to happen he says that he
is ready to retry the case as early as next week. I got witnesses lined up we're all set you know
Dr. Resnick is ready I'm ready we've got all our evidence witnesses are available so let's go.
Is that a timeline you would expect? Oh no they try to kick it out in six months or a year but
we're going to do it quick. Ahead of Kevin Reddington's comments this morning jurors
in Lindsay Clancy's trial they have been given what's called the Tui Rodriguez instructions
also known as a dynamite charge that's in the hopes that they can reach a verdict and this
won't end with a mistrial. The dynamite charge tells the nine women and three men in this court
case that they are deliberate that as they are deliberating there's no reason to believe that
there are any other 12 people that could get this case that would be more intelligent, impartial
or competent than the ones that are in that deliberation room right now or that there would
be any more or clearer evidence produced in another trial. So it is their duty to decide
this case if they can consciously. Now in this case the defense argues that Lindsay Clancy was
suffering from postpartum psychosis and is not criminally responsible for the murders of her
three children but the prosecution says that she planned those murders. Now jurors they have heard
from about 80 witnesses and have seen 300 exhibits over the course of five weeks. They have been
deliberating since last Thursday. For now live in Plymouth Ryan Breslin for your local station
Boston 25 News. Okay Ryan.
