For Shahansha Khan, filming in the village of Turtuk was a journey back to his roots. To capture the calm pace of life in the Nubra Valley, he needed a setup that allowed him to move freely and remain invisible.

The LUMIX S1II was the perfect companion for this personal project. Shooting entirely handheld, he relied on LUMIX class-leading IBIS to follow moments as they unfolded through narrow lanes and apricot trees. This stability ensured cinematic results without the need for additional equipment.

The unforgiving light of Ladakh required the maximum dynamic range possible, making V-Log the obvious choice. The S1II handled the harsh sun and deep shadows with ease, providing natural skin tones and rich textures that graded beautifully in post-production. Captured in 4K 24fps, the final piece is an unhurried, honest tribute to a place of deep tradition.
