Federal government extends gas tax holiday until January 2027

The Canadian federal government has extended the suspension of the federal fuel excise tax until January 31, 2025, to help citizens manage the rising cost of living and inflation. This measure provides relief of 10 cents per litre on gasoline and 4 cents per litre on diesel, though the tax will be phased back in starting February before returning to full effect on April 1.
