‘Triggered’ Mark Carney mocked for asking America to 'stop doing memes' amid trade war

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has been roasted after insisting that the Trump administration stop making “memes”.

Carney’s request comes as the US and Canada engage in a trade war, with both nations hiking tariffs on one another.

The prime minister argued that if Americans “start being serious,” then negotiations with the administration can restart.

“When the Americans stop doing memes, stop throwing shade and stop trying to be tough, and start being serious about having those discussions, we can have those discussions,” Carney said.

Carney’s comments, however, backfired with many social media users mocking the “triggered” prime minister.
