AI GeneratedThis video provides a strategic approach for beginners and professionals to learn social dancing efficiently. The instructor emphasizes that mastering fundamental skills—specifically coordination and rhythm—is far more important than memorizing random dance moves, which often lead to stiffness and self-consciousness if the basics are missing.
Maybe you've been avoiding dancing in social situations your entire life, but now you feel
those events keep coming up, you have more work events, parties, and you don't want to
put off learning how to dance anymore.
Well, after teaching for over 20 years, most of my clients have been beginners, professionals
who don't have a lot of time to learn.
I identified what mistakes will, first of all, stall your learning process or even make
you want to quit, and what you should be focusing on instead to learn the most efficient and
effective way.
You can apply it yourself, or if you want to be able to dance in a matter of weeks,
you can learn with my help, with my feedback.
If this is something that is important to you, being able to finally dance at any event,
especially work events, especially events where you don't want to feel uncomfortable,
now you can book a free consultation with me.
I will put the link on top of the description below this video, as well as in the top comment.
Alright, but let me give you the plan of action.
We'll start with what not to do.
This is guaranteed to slow down your learning process.
Don't spend countless hours learning random moves if you don't have the skills to use
those movements on the dance floor and to make them look good on you.
If you're learning the dance movements, but you don't have rhythm and you're stiff, you
still won't feel comfortable doing them because you will know that there is something incorrect
going on.
You will feel self-conscious.
You will second guess every movement.
Instead you want to focus on building fundamental dance skills.
Those are timeless and you only need to build them once, you will be able to dance for the
rest of your life.
So let's look at what those skills are.
First of all, we have coordination.
If you're not coordinated, you won't be able to move several different body parts at once
without looking like you're thinking about what to move, without, like I said, second
guessing yourself.
And why do we need to move several body parts at once, you ask?
Well, let me show you an example.
If you just move the feet, but nothing else, this is what you will look like.
And it doesn't matter what step you're doing.
You can even do fancy steps.
If you're just moving one thing, not a good look.
So we need coordination.
And I find that in those casual social situations, people usually move three, four different
things at once.
So that means moving the feet, but also maybe the knees, moving the hips in some situations,
the shoulders, the arms.
You want to be able to do that without having to think about how do I put stuff together.
The better coordination you have, the more natural your movements will look.
Because I always repeat it, there are no secret dance moves that you can learn that will make
you look amazing out there, or even at least comfortable.
They just don't exist.
You have to make them look like that on you, and you cannot do it without coordination.
Not having coordination will be a struggle both mentally, because whatever you're doing,
you're going to have to be thinking hard how to do it, and then you no longer look relaxed.
And it will be a struggle physically, because no matter how much you practice or how hard
you try, those movements simply won't look good on you.
We don't want that.
So how do you build coordination?
You have to get used to, instead of starting with the movements that you like, the movements
that you're like, okay, that looks amazing on that other person, I want to do everything.
No.
We have to start with the basics.
Instead of trying to do four, five things at the same time and look a hot mess, start
putting two things together, and only add extra components, extra body parts, if moving
those two different body parts is seamless for you.
And guess what?
If you struggle with rhythm on top of that, you shouldn't be even doing two things at
the same time.
You shouldn't be moving two body parts at once.
You have to start with one, and be able to, let's say, do a movement that's very basic,
boring looking for the entire song without losing the beat.
And only then you can challenge your coordination and add something else, because it doesn't
really matter if you're coordinated if you can't do the movement correctly with the music.
And surprisingly, I haven't found a dance teacher who would ever mention that to their
students, which I find very weird.
Because why would you be learning all of the dance moves, knowing that you still won't
feel confident doing them in front of other people, if you lack those two basic skills?
Again, if this is something you struggle with, and you just don't know how to do this
on your own, I help thousands of people go from no skills, no confidence to being able
to dance at any social event.

Book a call.
It's free.
You're not losing anything.
We'll figure out a plan to get you there.
That brings me to the second crucial fundamental dance skill, which is rhythm.
Because first of all, to be able to dance correctly with music, you're going to have
to match the movements to something specific in the song.
The easiest thing to do is to match the movements to the beat, because most people can identify
the beat easier than other elements.
Good news is that if you don't have rhythm, if you've never been able to dance with music,
or you're on the dance floor and you just don't know what the hell is happening, rhythm
is something that you can learn, and pretty quickly at that.
I will include my playlist below.
It's a great place to get started, because not only am I teaching you how to identify
the beat in different songs, but also how to match the movements to a specific beat
in a song.
So feel free to start there.
As a beginner, to look good on the dance floor, to at least blend in with others, you only
need to follow one rhythmic pattern.
There are many more, but you will look good even if your movements match with one specific
beat.
I believe that no dance teacher should be teaching you random things.
So if you're taking dance classes, whether it's group or private, and every week you're
just learning the moves, the moves, the moves, every week new moves, and especially if you're
learning routines that you have to memorize, like choreographed routines, and the teacher
is not helping you overcome your specific issues, run.
Because you will never look good by just learning the dance moves if you have other problems.
If you don't have other problems, yes, moves will help.
But if the fundamental skills are not there, it's such a waste of time.
Now, since you know what to focus on, your learning process should be more seamless.
If you're starting from zero and you focus on the right things, you can be dancing after
just two, three months.
If you don't know how to apply this strategy to your specific situation, feel free to book
a complimentary, call with me at the link below in the top comment, as well as on the
top of the description, and I'll be able to tell you how to apply these tips to your
specific issues and how we can help you get you to the point where dancing is no longer
something that's causing you stress, but it's something you're looking forward to every
single event.
Thank you so much for watching, you guys.
I will see you in my next tutorial.
Bye.
