This tutorial demonstrates how to achieve a professional, expanded bow look using any standard bow maker by focusing on ribbon length and fluffing techniques rather than expensive equipment.
So let me show you some little tricks, okay? So if you kind of want a look like this for your bow,
okay, but you don't want to buy the pro bow the hand, and you don't really want to have to do
all this wire stuff, let's talk about how this bow is structured. So we have two six inch,
one six inch, no two six inch, one five and a half, and then we have three at five inches,
and we have two at about four inches, and two at three, and one at one. So what you can do,
well first let me show you this, so you kind of understand how this works.
The reason this makes really pretty bows is because this is about a half inch between these,
okay? And so you're getting slightly smaller as you're going towards the center, which is what's
making that kind of expanded look, okay? So you see how these two are the same, okay? So that's those
two, but then when you get to this one, this one is going to be shorter than that one. So those
two are about the same, that one's about the same, and then again it gets shorter. You see how that
works? So when you're on a regular bow maker, right, so we twist it here, we're going to start
with two six inch, okay? There we go, there. Now we have, where's that, oh here it is, now we have
our black and white, okay? This time we're gonna do about five and a half. So you see how it's
smaller than that one, maybe closer to five, right about there, about right there, okay?
All right, now we go back to this one. Hopefully we have enough to try this.
Now we're going to go down to about four inches, so about right there, okay? Okay,
yeah, I think we can make it. Trim this one off. Now we're going to do this one. So you can see
how much faster it is to do it on this, okay? This time we're going to go to about three inches.
Did we just do the one? No, we did two, okay? That's what I thought. So two of these,
the white, I was showing them how they could make bows like the ProBow just on any bow maker.
All right, so now we're going to make it a little bit smaller, about two inches.
So two inches, two inches, and then one little one in the center, just like that, okay?
Now let's get a zip tie out, because I don't know about y'all, but I like that a lot better.
So this is what I want you to understand about why we're doing this. This is not about the bow
maker, it's about the technique. It's about the sizes that you use on your bows and how you fluff
them. It is not about which bow maker you use, okay? There's our indention. Remember, we hold it
to slide it around, okay? So bow making is more about learning the basics and then expanding on
that than it is about which bow maker you have to use, okay? Pull it tight. Now let's watch.
Fluff that out front. Fluff that in the middle. Pull that one out. That one out. That one out.
Let's pull these two out. Fluff those. Fluff that. The center one, okay? These out. Yeah,
I like the zip tie better. But you can use wire. You can see wire does work.
But what you need to know is it's not about whether you're using zip ties. It's not about
whether you're using wires. It's not about whether you're using the easy bow maker or the pro bow
or the four-in-one. It's about just learning how the bows work and how you fluff them out.
The biggest thing is the fluff. Learning to keep it straight and fluffy. Those are the biggest
things. All right, now see that? See? So the trick is when you want to make ones that are
similar to what you would get on the pro bow, you just start going down, okay? You start going
like half inch, a full inch, a half inch, a full inch, so on and so forth, okay?
So you can get the same look. You can still get these nice bows with the same exact look.
And I don't care what bow maker I use. They're always going to be the same
because it's not the bow maker. It's the, you know, it's what you're doing with the ribbon.
So don't stress so much about which bow maker you have. See that? And how much
faster was it for us to make this one than it was to make this one? That was much faster.
