Our First 24 Hours with My Chinese In-Laws in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 | Grandma’s Rules + Seafood!

Day one in Hong Kong and my Chinese mother-in-law took us out to a seafood restaurant. Then she pulled out this crab and told me this is our dinner tonight. I was just as shocked as you guys but before we get into what happened with the crab, let me show you how we end up here. Hi guys, welcome back to my channel. So we have finally made it to Hong Kong. It's literally my first time in Hong Kong with my half Pakistani half Chinese children. They have actually never been to a grandparent's house before. We will be staying with my Chinese in-laws whilst we are here for two weeks. I thought I'll take you guys along with me to show you guys what our first few days living with my in-laws are. Now we're going to go to my husband's parents house, relax for a little bit and then get ready and go out for dinner. It was around a 25-minute drive until we finally got to my in-laws place and my mother-in-law was so excited to see Isaac and Eliza but they were so tired. As soon as we got inside, the rules started and honestly, I don't blame them. They just really like to keep everything super clean. Shoes off as soon as you enter, straight to washing your hands but this next one actually surprised me. Before our suitcases could even enter the bedroom, they had to be completely cleaned out. She had even brought his brand new towels and face cloths ready for when they arrived which I thought was so sweet. Guys, we literally just got here and the grandma was literally showing us around her flat and now we are going to shop more to get something to eat and Isaac wants to try and find football cards. We then headed to a mall which was only about 10 minutes away. What do you want Isaac? I could not have McDonald's today. And I have to say, I found it so sweet that the first meal they took me for in Hong Kong was actually Italian. I think they were easing me in before all the Chinese food. It's very nice, not so warm. It's very, very fresh actually. My husband offered me some of his cake but honestly, if it's that bloody and that pink, then I am going nowhere near it. Wow. What? Grandma bought her chocolate cake? I don't know if you've got a sticker. I choose it for Eliza. Oh, Eliza bought you chocolate cake. Grandma said you have to eat it. Grandma said if you want a chocolate cake or a strawberry one, you have to eat it in the toilet, okay? After a quick dinner, my husband took me to the skincare shop. Honestly, this was like heaven. Oh my goodness, all of these products. Wow. So this girl's picked up these two hair ties. And the last time daddy came back from Hong Kong, he brought Eliza these lip balms. And now I'm just going to lip balm and a hand cream. You're such a lucky girl. And I'm going to come back another day to get some. Grandma actually broke her rule and let the kids eat cake on the dinner table. And I just had to try some of that chocolate cake for myself. When daddy was little, he wasn't allowed to eat cake or snacks on the table. He had to actually go to the bathroom to eat it. So you're so lucky. I share with Eliza. Thank you. She also said it's good for the kids to drink warm water after a bath. Hi, everybody. This is just day one in Hong Kong. And I'm just going to get myself dressed, get my kids dressed. And then we're going to head to the mall. So Isaac's already been out for breakfast. And he had a traditional English... No, traditional Chinese breakfast, right? Isaac, how was your Chinese breakfast? Good. Really good. And since then, he's literally just been stuck on his phone on Roblox. But that's fine because we're going out soon. And when we go out, you're not allowed your devices, right? I will. No, you're not allowed. So Isaac and Eliza are ready. And they're actually matching today. You guys look so cute. They're beginning to act a bit silly now because they're bored. That means we need to get them out of the house. Out loud. My father-in-law is sleeping. So we had to actually get the bus to the shopping mall. Butter as well. Guys, oh my goodness. All this food is so delicious. I've just tried a pineapple. This bun is so soft. Eliza, that's delicious. You have to try it. The kids love a chocolate bun. We've got chicken noodles, beef soup noodles, chicken rice. You love the pineapple one. That is so good, isn't it? How is it, Wallace? Good to be back in Hong Kong? Eliza's having omelette and bread in Hong Kong, but the Pakistani style. She's actually eating it with her hands. She's not playing with the food. She eats it like that. Don't forget she's half Pakistani. Is this really yummy? I think if Isaac stayed with me more in Hong Kong, he would eat everything in Hong Kong. He will turn into 100% Chinese. Isaac's so excited looking at all these. Wow, that's cute. Eliza's chosen this pink one. So cute. Isaac, can I have the blue one? Is that boys or girls? We then took the kids to Snoopy World, a cute little peanut-themed park that's completely free. The kids absolutely loved it. It was honestly way too hot, so we gave up and headed to an indoor soft play instead. I couldn't get over how clean everything was, and I noticed so many of the kids there were with their nannies whilst the parents were off enjoying child-free shopping. Honestly, not a bad idea. After that, we met back up with the grandparents and headed out for seafood. And this is where the night gets interesting. Eliza, look where we are. Is this where we're eating? Oh my goodness. We are eating here today. Oh my goodness. Eliza. Oh my goodness, guys. We are eating here today. Like, what? It's a crab, I think. Look how hot. Which one are you having for dinner today, Eliza? You are. You have to eat something for dinner. Where's the crab? Oh yeah, a lobster. Which one are you having, Eliza? Oh my goodness, guys. You can literally eat whatever you want here. You pick what you like and then go and cook it. I can't believe it. I'm vegetarian today. Oh my goodness, someone's chosen that way. Let's see which one he gets. He has to pick the right one, hasn't he? Yeah. Guys, if you want, you could even eat this. Isaac, Isaac. Isaac, look at me. Do you want to... Isaac, do you want that for dinner tonight? My kids are traumatized. Are you having it for dinner tonight, Eliza? No, but Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa are, aren't they? Isaac, he can't eat you, but you can eat him. Oh, Eliza's saying hi to them. Eliza, somebody's going... I'm not going to lie. I actually felt so bad seeing all the sea creatures in a tank. I know it's completely normal here, but I'm just so not used to seeing my dinner alive before I eat it. And then came the moment you've all been waiting for. My mother-in-law casually held out this huge live crab and told us this is our dinner. I honestly didn't know whether to laugh, cry or run. I mean, just look at the size of it. Guys, Grandma's telling Isaac to come and have a look at this. Oh, look at this doggie. That doggie's so cute. Isaac, this is your dinner today. The kids were actually loving it because to them it was basically like a giant aquarium. But when it came to actually eating any of it, they were suddenly not interested at all. What do you think about it? That big massive crab that you were holding? That's what you're having for dinner tonight? What do you think? No? Me too. Honestly, he's so sweet. He said he just wants to see creatures to stay alive. Yeah, so the people will come, they pick which one they like and then they cook it and then they eat it. Grandma wants that. Yeah, Grandma bought that. So they're going to cook that for Grandma now. Isaac has picked two vegetables today because we are vegetarian, so it'll be nice for him. He should just like his dad. He loves his dad. Nice, Isaac. Guys, it is so nice. Guys, I'm about to try the fish. Isaac said it's really good, so that's why I'm going to try it. Yeah, very good. But I can't use chopsticks because I did not know I can't use chopsticks. Fish. Yeah, that's nice. So good. I know it's very frustrating. Which one? Oh, this one, Tudor clam. Tudor clam, guys. It's Tudor clam. Isaac actually loves the fish and he loves the spaghetti. You love the food here, don't you? You're a real Chinese, Isaac. So me and Isaac are going to try the prawn. I tried it already. You want to try it first? I think it's okay. It's not bad. Eat it from that side. This side? Yeah, that side. Which side, Wallace? Which side? Same. Same. Go on, try it. Okay. Look at that. It's fresh prawn. That is actually from the sea. Is that nice? Yeah. Oh, Isaac likes it. See? Hello, Isaac, is it good? Oh, she doesn't like it. You don't like it? Okay, you just stick to your rice and egg, okay? And that was our first 24 hours in Hong Kong from learning grandma's rules to exploring with the kids and ending the day with a seafood experience I definitely was unprepared for.
