Hey guys, welcome back to my channel and thank you for clicking on this video.
In today's video we're going to be making some holiday appetizers. I've got
a few different savory options and then one sweet treat at the end.
So if you guys want to see what we're going to make then please keep watching.
All right guys, first up is our little Smokies wreath. What you're going to need
is a package of Crescent Rolls, brand of your choice.
Then you're going to need some beef little Smokies. They're like little mini
hot dogs. They have them in different protein
varieties. I've seen it turkey, beef, I'm sure they even make pork.
So pick the one that your family likes. One red pepper. This is for the
decoration to make the bow. You guys will see.
And then one beaten egg for the egg wash at the end. So first thing you want to do
is take out your dough from the package. I already preheated my oven to 375.
Got your dough all rolled out. Now you're just going to push the seams together.
I'm going to make it one big pastry pastry dough sheet.
Okay, once you've got all the seams pushed together, you're going to go ahead
and cut these in strips.
All right, I went ahead and emptied our little Smokies into a bowl just to make
assembly easier. So I think I'm going to cut it down in
half once more. Considering these are so tiny, you're going to roll it over.
You don't want too much dough. It's going to kind of mess up the baking
time. So I'm just going to cut these in half.
So take your little Smokie, wrap it in your dough like so.
Then I'm going to arrange it into a wreath shape on this non-stick cookie
sheet. Once we get them all rolled and formed.
Now's the fun part. We're going to go ahead and arrange them in our little
wreath shape. You want them touching so make sure you
push them down. You might have to play with this a few
times till you get the placement perfect.
Looks good. I've got a few left over here. I'm just going to bake these on the side.
Maybe give them to my daughter as a little snack.
So we've got our egg wash already all mixed up and ready to go. We're going to
spread that on the pastry. This is going to cause it to brown
and get nice and flaky. You can also use butter but I find that
egg wash works much better.
All right our wreath is ready to go. We've got our egg wash on. I'm going to
stick it in the oven at 375 for 8 to 12 minutes.
All right while our crescent rolls are baking we're going to go ahead and cut
up this pepper. We're essentially just cutting this up
for decoration to put on the wreath to make a bow.
So what we're going to do I'm going to go ahead and cut off all the sides.
Kind of make a bow shape like so. It's a little bit tricky. I might
use some toothpicks when we come down to the presentation but you basically just
want to make it look like a little bow. This step is completely optional but I
thought it was very festive. All right guys these just came out of
the oven and it's perfect. All right guys I got it transferred over
to its serving dish. It does kind of look like a square but
hey you get the idea. And I must say it was quite difficult to get it off of the
baking dish but I did I did manage to get it off in
one piece without breaking its shape. So now we're going to go ahead and add
our red pepper for our bow. I'm thinking I'm going to use a toothpick
just to make it stay.
All right there we go. The bow isn't perfect but you get the idea.
You can put ketchup mustard or barbecue sauce or whatever kind of dipping sauce
you like in the middle and it's good to go. All right guys next
up we're going to work on our cheese ball.
Now I went ahead and made our cheese mixture yesterday. I took
two eight ounces of softened cream cheese, three and a half cups of sharp
cheddar cheese, half a package of fresh chives, and one
packet of ranch seasoning. So I will insert a clip so you guys can
see how I did it.
So the other things you're going to need besides the ingredients for the cheese
ball is some pecans. I went ahead and crushed
them up. This is going to be the coating. And then you're going to need a grape
tomato. I've got a few in here just to see which shape I like best.
Some pretzels, black olives, you're only going to need one,
and then some crackers for the dipping of the cheese. But the whole purpose of
me making this yesterday was so that it could sit overnight.
The recipe does state it needs at least four hours but it's
best if it chills overnight. So I'm going to go ahead and take this out of the
package. I'm going to empty my pecans on the
plate here and then we're going to put the cheese ball
in the pecans. Kind of roll it around so it sticks to the ball.
Push it down in there, make sure it's nice and stuck on.
So give a nice crunch factor to the ball. All right we've got all the pecans on
there. Now we're going to go ahead and put on our ears,
our Rudolph nose, and our eyes. You're going to want to put the ears
at like an angle, kind of to look like antlers.
I'm just going to push it down. I couldn't find the big ones in my store.
I would have preferred the big ones but this will work.
Try to stick it in there as secure as possible.
There we go, he's kind of pointed. Now we're going to make our eyes. Go ahead
and cut the olives and stick them in there the same way you
did the tomato. Just put a little pressure, you don't want the
olive for the tomato to collapse. All right, next you're going to need some
crackers of choice. I really love this Entertainment Cracker
Selection from Walmart. They're really good. Anytime we have any
kind of dip, like spinach dip or anything like that, we use these and they're very
very good. I've also got some crackers and some
little like bruschetta pieces from a gift
basket we got for the holidays. So I'm going to use those too.
Just go ahead and arrange your crackers.
Guys, super simple, very delicious and very festive.
All right guys, next up is our deviled eggs. Now basically what we're going to
do, I went ahead and cooked six eggs. You can
make as many as you'd like. Again, this is just for my family but if
you're having a get-together or even a larger family,
cook more eggs because we're going to cut them in half so it'll equal
12 eggs, if that makes sense. So you're going to need
your eggs of course, whatever you like to make your deviled eggs with.
I use mayo, mustard, salt, pepper and paprika
and then you're going to need some gel food coloring. I picked red and green.
So I'm going to go ahead and cut these in half and I will be back. Okay guys, I
decided to share with you how I make my deviled egg mixture. I know everybody is
different depending on where you're from and how your mother teached you or
whoever taught you but this is how I'm going to do it. This
is how my mom taught me. So you're going to go ahead and mash up
all your egg yolks. Try to get it as pasty and crumble free as possible
but if you like your super creamy, go ahead and stick it in a blender
or you can mix it up with a hand mixer but we're not super super picky here
about it. I'm just going to go ahead and push
these down. I'm going to go ahead and take my mayonnaise
and my mustard. Now my mom never really told me an exact amount. We kind of just
taste it and see how it is. If it needs more mayo, needs more mustard
and vice versa. Start with one heaping tablespoon of
like mayo, a couple squirts mustard and we'll mix it in.
Ratio tastes good. Now we're going to add our salt and pepper.
And the paprika I put on last as purely decoration.
All right, off camera I went ahead and washed these and cleaned them out.
We're going to go ahead and mix up our dye mixture. So I'm going to add
a couple drops of green and red to some water and we're going to put the eggs in
there and just let them sit. And you can get it as bright or as light
as you would like it. You can make it very subtle
as far as the color or very dark. It's completely up to you
and it depends on how long you leave it in the water solution.
Okay and now you're going to just take your eggs and drop it in.
All right, that's it. You're just going to let them sit. We're going to keep
checking back and pulling a few out to see how the color is soaking in.
And once you get it to your desired brightness then you can take it out.
All right guys, these eggs have been sitting for quite a while now, about an
hour. The red looks good and opaque. The green
still looks like it needs a little bit more time
but I still think it's pretty green compared to the white.
So we're going to go ahead and take these out. Very, very careful. You don't
want to break the egg.
Take the red out. The red really took the color.
I went ahead and put my yolk mixture in my piping bag. I chopped up a little bit
of chives and then we're going to add the paprika
at the end too. The paprika and the chives are just for color.
So I'm going to go ahead and start piping. You don't have to use a piping bag. I
just thought this would look prettier.
And there we have it. Like I said, this one did break but that's all right.
This is for us for at home so I'm not worried too much.
So I'm going to go ahead and add a little bit of our chives and then we'll
add the paprika and then transfer it to the plate.
Arrange them on our plate here. It might slide around a little bit.
There we are guys, our beautiful christmasy themed
deviled eggs. All right guys, next up is our candy cane caprese board.
So what you're going to need for the caprese salad is some french bread
that's already sliced, some red tomatoes. I'm going to use about
three. Package of fresh basil or if you have some from your garden. If
you have one, that would be great. Some sliced mozzarella cheese, a
balsamic glaze, salt and pepper, and some olive oil.
So first up, I'm going to go ahead and wash my tomatoes and cut them up into
thin slices.
Okay, we've got our tomatoes all sliced. Now I'm going to go ahead and start
slicing our mozzarella. This is already pre-sliced but I think
the slices are a little bit thick. So if they are, I'm going to go ahead
and trim those down as well.
It's actually not too thick. I'm just going to keep it as is.
All right, the next step is really really easy. You're just going to go ahead and
make a shape of a candy cane on your wood cutting board or whatever
serving pot you're going to be using. Go ahead and start placing my tomatoes
first and then we'll go back and add the mozzarella just so I make sure I have
enough cheese and tomatoes. I'm just going to
go ahead and insert that mozzarella in alternating colors.
All right guys, there's our candy cane. It's so beautiful
and nice and thick and hearty. So now we're going to go ahead and add our
basil. I'm going to add it into a little corner
so if you want to take a piece when you take your bite, you can grab it from
there and kind of arrange it in a floral
pattern here.
Now we're going to take some of those smaller leaves, kind of just put it
around the corners here.
I'm gonna go ahead and take my little dish here, put it on top of the basil
leaves. I'm gonna empty out some of that glaze
into the bowl. Add a little spoon just to drizzle.
I'm going to go ahead and add my olive oil. I'm using
a coffee spoon again just because the portion is right,
it's not too much. You don't want to drown your tomatoes
in your mozzarella with olive oil. I'm just going to take a little bit of sea salt,
sprinkle it over because you always want to season your tomatoes
and then a little bit of fresh cracked pepper. All right guys, we've got our
caprese. Now we're going to get out our platter of bread.
You can always toast this or use little toastinis, you could use crackers
or you don't have to use bread at all, it's completely up to you, but I am going
to serve it with a side of bread. Beautiful little pieces of french bread.
Here's what our candy king caprese looks like, very festive.
Our bread on the side, it's perfect. All right guys, last but not least, we're
going to make our christmas jello cups. So what you're going to need is one three
ounce package of lime jello, one three ounce package of
strawberry jello, some whipped cream, and then some
sprinkles of choice to go on top. And last but not least, you'll need some
clear cups of some kind. If you have shot glasses, those will work
or even clear cups will work as well, but I wanted something small since this is a
treat. So I got these from Walmart in a large
package. So first you want to go ahead and assemble the jello. We're going to do
one by one. So you're going to go ahead and make your jello per the package
instructions. Okay, I've got my jello all mixed up. Now
what you're going to do, you're going to fill your little cups
halfway with the red jello and then these need to set.
Once they've set, we'll go ahead and do the green and put the green on top.
Now they don't need to set completely. We'll wait maybe a half hour or 30
minutes just to see if it's starting to firm.
Once it is, it'll be perfect to put the green on top. Otherwise you're just going
to mix the red and the green together and it's going to look brown.
So it's going to mess up the whole thing. So we're going to go ahead and fill our
cups halfway with the red jello.
All right, these are all full. Now we're going to set these in the fridge for
about 20 minutes to a half hour just to see where we're at.
All right guys, now we're going to go ahead and make our lime jello per the
instructions. All right guys, I just took my
strawberry jello out of the fridge. I did stick it in the freezer for like
five minutes just to speed the process along.
As you can see, it's still kind of jiggly but I think we'll be able to pour it on
top without it seeping through. So we're going to try one and see. So the
key here is to just pour it slowly and around so there's not a lot of pressure
and one point in the cup if that makes sense.
I'm just going to pour it in. Roll it around.
Very gentle. You see how it's got two distinct lines there?
All right guys, now I'm very carefully going to put these back in the container
and go stick it back in the fridge. All right guys, our jello is good and set.
As you can see, got that beautiful red and green variation there. I'm going
to go ahead and add our whipped cream on top,
add some sprinkles and that's it.
Use some sanding sugar here and then I've got some chunky sprinkles. Maybe
I'll add a few on top.
There we have it guys. Our little jello sundaes if you will.
All right, first up is Christmas crack. It's called crack because it is very
addicting. This stuff is so so good. So here are the things you're going to
need. You're going to need some butter, some mini M&Ms, some semi-sweet chocolate
chips, some saltine crackers, some brown sugar and some vanilla extract as well
as some kosher salt. So I'm going to take my little coconut
spray here and spray down my pan really well.
Then you're going to line up your saltine crackers. I use
just under one pack of crackers here. I had two just in case.
You can double it up if you want to make it super super thick
but once you've got it all lined up you're going to take your ingredients
that need to be melted like your butter. I have two sticks here which equals one
cup and then you're going to need one cup of brown sugar,
a fourth of teaspoon of kosher salt and one teaspoon of vanilla extract and
you're going to go ahead and melt that up.
Don't worry I will link the exact measurements down below for you guys.
This is what you're looking for once it's all melted. It's starting to turn
nice and golden brown. You're going to pour that over the
crackers. Spread that out. It is pretty thick.
You don't want it to turn into caramel quite yet but it's very very close.
It will continue cooking in the oven. So we're going to take this now, pop it in
the oven at 350 for just five minutes. While we're waiting on that we're going
to take one cup of our semi-sweet chocolate chips.
I'm going to melt that in the microwave in about 30 second intervals. It took me
about a minute and a half to get it to this consistency.
So now we're going to take our crackers out of the oven. I'm just showing you
here you kind of want to wait till the bubbles stop
bubbling. So you're going to wait like a couple minutes just for it to set.
Then you're going to pour your chocolate over top and just smooth that out as
much as you can. Try to get it as even as possible.
It is going to move around just a little bit but that's okay.
And then while the chocolate is still hot you're going to put on your toppings.
You can do nuts, you can do coconut, you can do anything you'd like.
I'm doing these little mini M&Ms because this is what I have on hand.
But it's completely up to you. So now that it's done we're going to pop it
into the fridge for at least two hours. You'll know it's done when it's super
super brittle. Then you're going to go ahead and break
it up into little pieces. You can make them as small as you'd like. You can make
it uniform and cut it with a knife. I really like the raw edges. And that is
it for this one.
All right moving on to the Christmas pull apart monkey bread. I
love this one. It turned out so so good. As you can see here you pull them apart
in individual pieces and each piece has a
different flavor. Like I'm showing you here all the
different options. We're going to do like a pepperoni pizza one
and then we're going to do like a taco one with taco seasoning and sharp
cheddar cheese. Then a jalapeno popper one with
jalapenos and cheddar cheese. I mean the options are truly endless on
this one. We've got everything. Bagel seasoning, poppy seeds.
You want something a little bit more sweet. Some cranberries and some
rosemary. Now we're going to take our butter. I
took about a half a stick of butter or I should say a half a cup
which is one stick. I put a ton of minced garlic in there and melted it.
Now I'm going to spray my little bundt pan.
And I've got two rolls of biscuits. I got the flaky kind. It doesn't really
matter. Completely up to you. You're going to cut them in half and
then roll them into little balls like so. Then you're going to dip it into the
butter garlic mixture and then start dipping it in your
toppings. I've got it nice and coated and now
we're going to keep going. Keep changing and alternating flavors.
You can do one row of flavors you know of just one kind or two kinds. I did
alternating just to make it super interesting when you pull it apart. It's
a different flavor each time.
So as you can see this is what it looks like when you've got all your different
varieties lined up. Super super yummy. This one did take me
about 20 minutes to complete but oh my gosh guys this one was so
so good. I really loved how this one turned out.
I'm going through and just adding more cheese and more jalapenos or any more
toppings to the top. Then I'm going to take that remaining
butter and garlic and just pour it over top.
Then you're going to loosely cover it with aluminum foil. Stick it in the oven
at 350 for about 35 to 40 minutes just until it's nice and golden brown and not
gooey anymore. And this is what it looks like. Oh my
goodness. Really really good stuff. All right next up is our Christmas
appetizer tree. This one is super fun. If you don't like olives you probably
won't like this but you can really do anything you'd like.
I've got a bunch of different cheeses, some grape tomatoes, some rosemary and
two different kinds of olives. You can even do this with feta if you
want. The options are truly up to you as well.
You will need a styrofoam tree I got from Michael's
and then we are going to wrap that tree with cling wrap just so it's
you know super sanitary. We don't have raw food on
styrofoam. So you're going to go ahead and wrap that up.
Next you're going to need toothpicks. A ton of them. I broke mine in half
and what you're basically just going to do put your toothpick in the tree and
pop on your piece of cheese or your olive or your tomato
and then just go around and do the same thing through the whole thing.
This took me about 45 minutes. It did take me a while so if you get a bigger
tree it will take you even longer. But this is a really pretty idea for a
presentation for a party. This was really really fun to do. I
really like this one. Like I said you can do feta and olives.
You can do like the Kalmata olives. You could do pepperoni. You could do
lunch meat. You could do really anything with these.
Super super versatile. So now I'm going to take that rosemary and just kind of
fill in those gaps so you can't see the white and the cellophane
poking through here as you can see. Just going to fill it in.
This is purely for decoration and this is what we've got when we're done.
This one's super pretty and very very festive. Love this one so much.
All right last but not least is our little Christmas mini pizzas. I thought
these were so cute. Perfect for your littles.
So you're going to need some pizza crust, some pizza sauce,
some mini pepperonis and some mozzarella cheese. You can even add olives or
peppers or whatever you'd like. And then you're going to need some
cookie cutters. I got mine from Amazon. I will link them down below.
So now we're just going to stretch out our cookie dough. Try to get it as thin
as possible. And then just start making little
cookie dough cuts.
Now these didn't take very long at all. Took about 15 minutes to bake in the
oven. So now I'm just going to put on my sauce
and my cheese and add the little pepperonis. And that is it guys. This
one's more for the kiddos. I mean it's good too for adults but
these are really really good for the for the kids if they don't like
you know olives and all the other treats that I made.
These are super super cute and very easy to do.
So this is what they look like when they come out of the oven. I am already
missing a few. I think a little couple hands kind of reached up and
stole some when I wasn't looking. But these are
adorable. I just wanted to show you guys really quick the pull apart monkey bread.
This is how it looks when it comes out of the oven when we
when you start taking it apart. Each little ball is a different flavor.
I love this one so much. If you make any of these recipes
definitely try the monkey bread. You won't be disappointed.
All right guys first thing we're going to make is the fudge that takes the most
time in the fridge to set. It takes about three hours to cool down
before you can cut it. So we're going to start with two
tablespoons of butter and then we're going to add three cups
of semi-sweet chocolate chips and then one can of sweetened condensed milk.
You're going to mix that all together until it's all nice and melted and then
we'll transfer it to the baking dish.
You want to keep the heat at a medium low. You don't want it to cook too fast
and not too slow either. So medium medium low heat is the perfect temperature.
I'm going to keep stirring until it's combined.
Now you can also make this exact same recipe with white chocolate chips or
even dark chocolate. We are making a milk chocolate version
but it's exactly the same just change out the type of chocolate.
Now this is about the consistency you want. You want it to be nice and smooth
no lumps. It is quite thick. Now I'm going to turn off the heat and
then we're going to transfer it to its baking dish.
Now we're just going to pour this fudgy mixture into a lined
baking dish. You do want to line it with parchment paper so it's easier to get
out. So get that in there. All right now that
it's in we're going to go ahead and spread it around.
Kind of just pull it to each corner
even as possible. All right guys once you've got it all spread out this is the
part where you can add some nuts, some sprinkles, some sanding sugar, you can
add M&Ms, you can add anything you'd like
or you can keep it plain. I am going to make half of it with some sanding sugar
just for an extra little Christmassy touch.
All right once you've got your toppings of choice on you're going to go ahead
and stick this in the fridge for about three hours
or until it's set. All right guys our fudge is all set. It's been in the fridge
for just under three hours. I'm going to go ahead and take it out.
All right guys we're going to go ahead and portion it out but as you can see
half of it has sprinkles the other half is plain.
Go ahead and separate those two and it's the perfect thickness too. You don't want
it to be too thick. This is so rich that you don't want big
honking bites.
This one off to the side here so I can go ahead and portion these out.
Now you can make them as big or as small as you'd like.
This is about what I'm looking for. Just a little bit of a bite-sized piece.
And there we have it the final product. Again I didn't make
them super symmetrical. This is going to family so I don't care if it looks
perfect but it tastes good nonetheless. All right
guys now we're going to go on to the candy cane blossoms.
I did go ahead and measure out all the ingredients and put them in little bowls
just to make it easier. So you can take about a half a cup of
butter softened, one cup of granulated sugar, one egg, and one and a half
teaspoons of vanilla extract. So you're going to go ahead and mix that
all up in your mixer. So we're going to start with the butter
first to get it nice and creamy.
Next we're going to add the egg, vanilla, and the sugar.
We're going to add two tablespoons of milk.
Now we're going to go ahead and add our dry ingredients. I went ahead and put two
cups of all-purpose flour, one and a half teaspoons of baking soda,
and a fourth a teaspoon of salt. We're going to go ahead and mix this in here.
Go ahead and scrape those sides. You've got a nice dough formed here. We're going
to go ahead and start preparing our balls.
All right guys we've got our dough all ready. Now we're going to shape into one
inch balls. You can use your little cookie scoop or
ice cream scoop to make it easier. I'm going to roll it up and then we're
going to dip it into our sanding sugar here
and then place it on our ungreased baking sheets. So let's go ahead and pour
out our sanding sugar. I'm using classic Christmas colors red
and green.
So I'm going to roll it into the sugar. Make sure it's completely covered and
coated. You can reform them just a little bit
and then you're going to stick them on your baking sheet. Now I would do about
nine cookies per sheet. You don't want to crowd it. These need space to move around.
All right guys got all my balls rolled out
like so. Now we're going to go ahead and sprinkle them in the sugar like I showed
you earlier. I decided I'm going to do one tray of
green, one tray of red, and then one tray of red and green.
So we're going to mix it up just a little bit. So this recipe did say it's
supposed to yield about four dozen. Mine made just under three dozen. So I
guess if you want to make the balls smaller you can or you can double the
batch if you want to make more. But this is perfect for me. So I'm going
to go ahead and start rolling them in the sugar.
All right once you're done you're going to stick it in your preheated oven at
350 degrees for eight to ten minutes or just until
they are lightly brown and the cookie is set.
So the most important thing with any blossom cookie, whether that be a
peanut butter blossom or the candy cane blossom,
as soon as those cookies come out of the oven you need to stick your kiss right
on the hot cookie. So the cookie will cool down with the
kiss inserted so it'll kind of glue it in.
Now be very very careful after these cookies are done cooling when you move
them because if you move them too soon this will melt and collapse. So it's very
important. So I went ahead while I'm waiting for our
cookies to bake. I went ahead and took these all out of the packaging.
I did get these from Hershey's. They are the peppermint kiss. So I've got them all
ready to go so when the cookies come out we can start assembly.
Okay they look perfect. Let's go ahead and stick our kisses right in the center.
All right now I'm going to let these cool for a minute while I put the next
batch in. All right I don't know if you guys can
see but this is my cooling station. I've got a bunch of cookie racks
out here so I'm going to go ahead and transfer those blossom cookies over here
so they can cool. Be very careful when moving them. You do
not want to upset the set of the cookies.
All right guys next up is our jam thumbprint cookies. We're going to go
ahead and cream our butter. Once that's nice and creamy we're going
to add the cream cheese and the sugar.
Add our cream cheese. Make sure you get all of it off the sides here.
Now we're going to incorporate our sugar into that mixture.
So we're going to go ahead and mix this until it's nice and fluffy. So about five
minutes. All right guys it looks perfect. It's
nice and fluffy and pale in color. So I'm going to go
ahead and scrape down the sides. Now we're going to add about a teaspoon
of vanilla extract and you're going to mix that just until it's combined.
So I went ahead and mixed up our dry ingredients off camera. We've got about
two and a quarter cups of all-purpose flour and then a half a teaspoon of salt.
So I'm going to go ahead and mix this just until it's combined
and forms a dough.
All right guys we've got our dough all mixed up. We've got our cookie sheets.
We're going to go ahead and scoop them out by a tablespoon.
I'm going to roll it into a ball and stick them on the sheet.
All right guys once you've got all your cookies and balls you're going to take
some non-stick spray, whichever you'd like,
coconut oil, vegetable oil, it doesn't matter.
And then you're going to need a teaspoon. So we're going to take this metal
teaspoon here and what you're basically going to do
spray it with your cooking oil and you're going to push down to make a
little well for your jam to go into. So I'll show you guys what I mean.
I got it sprayed with cooking oil. Now we're just going to take our teaspoon
and just push it down. It's going to create a perfect little
well for our jam.
So the jam that I'm going to be using today is the best in my opinion and of
course it is a French brand. It is the Bon Mamon
Jam. I'm going to use three different kinds. We're going to do
a strawberry preserve, a blueberry preserve, and then an
apricot preserve. But you can use whatever jam or jelly
you prefer. I think this will just make it very rich
and very sweet. Now you guys are going to laugh but I'm
going to be using these kids spoons. This is like the perfect little size for the
jam. It doesn't put too much, too little, because
you do not want to overfill your cookies. So I'm going to start with my blueberry
preserves. We're going to do one sheet of each
flavor and then I've got a couple left over here that I'll do one of each.
I'm going to make sure it's just enough there.
You're going to fill that spoon just enough and you're going to stick it
into your cookie. You don't want it overflowing. You kind of want a little
bit of room because these are going to melt
a little bit.
All right guys I'm going to go ahead and stick these into my preheated oven at
375 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes. Now you
still want them to be pale in color but they need to set.
So they might brown around the edges and that's how you'll know when they're
done. All right guys we just took our jam
thumbprint cookies out of the oven. We're going to transfer them over to our
cooling racks to cool.
This is what you're looking for guys. It's slightly brown on the bottom
and crinkly on the top. It's still soft. These came out really good.
All right guys next cookie is our peppermint Oreo balls.
Now as you can tell we really like peppermint in this family but this is
probably the easiest recipe besides the fudge.
The fudge is pretty simple too but nonetheless you're going to take about
36 Oreos. You're going to mash them up. If you have a food processor go ahead and
toss those in there with your cream cheese.
But I don't so I went ahead and just mashed this up on my counter
along with my peppermint. So we're going to take about eight ounces of cream
cheese. Again brand of your choice. We're going
to mix that up with our Oreos just until it's combined.
Give that a good mix around. Make sure we get everything off the sides.
Should be nice and wet like so. All right next up we're going to take our
mix. We're going to roll it into one inch balls.
Place them on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and then you're going to
freeze them for about 30 minutes just until they're
firm.
All right guys our Oreo balls have been in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
Now we're going to put together the white chocolate coating that's going to
coat the Oreo balls that's going to make the peppermint stick to it if that makes
sense. So I'm going to go ahead and mix this
together. I've got some white chocolate melting wafers
and now you're going to do about a half a teaspoon of mint extract.
You're going to add that to your chocolate and you're going to heat it up
in 30 minute intervals in the microwave.
All right guys that looks about right. It took about two minutes in the
microwave. Now we're going to take our Oreo balls.
They should be nice and firm. Take your forks. This is kind of where
it gets tricky. You want to dip your Oreo ball into the
chocolate and then dip it into here and then set it to cool.
So drop this in. I'm going to kind of cover it.
That's why it was so important that it was cool because otherwise it would just
fall apart in here. Try to tap off as much excess as
possible. Take your crushed peppermints. Drop it
in. Don't worry if it's you know you've got
some of the oil peeking through. It's fine.
That can be the bottom. We're going to let this cool now. I'm going to put it on
another cookie sheet with parchment paper.
All right guys I just finished. I only did
eight of them with the white chocolate coating. I kind of like how they are
how chewy they are and not so hard without it. So I just went ahead and
rolled them in the crushed up peppermint so it is really
chewy. But at least I have two options. So I'll
give my family you know two or three of each
so that way they can try both. But either way they're really good. You should
definitely try them. The chocolate is a little bit hard to
work with and you should probably buy more chocolate than you think you'll
need because they do end up soaking up a lot of that chocolate even if you tap
off the excess. So it's a little bit hard to work with
but they still came out really
All right guys this is what we have so far. We've got the
peppermint thumbprint cookies. The fudge is back here. We've got the
cream cheese jam thumbprint cookies in the three
different flavors. So we've got the strawberry,
the blueberry, and then the apricot. And then last but not least we've got the
oreo balls. So I've got one with the white chocolate coating and one without.
I have been baking for about three hours so this does take quite a bit of time
and I still have two or three more cookies that I want to make. But this is
what we have so far. Don't they look so good? They came out
really really good. I'm really happy. I think my family will
be very happy too. All right guys next up is our chocolate
chip M&M cookies. So I'm basically doing the recipe that's
on the back of the chocolate chip bag. It is the best. I use the Tollhouse brand.
The recipe is right here. So first you're going to need to cream
your butter. We've got one cup of unsalted butter.
To that you're going to add three-fourths cup granulated white sugar,
three-fourths cup brown sugar, and then your one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
We're going to mix that all together and then we will add our eggs one by one.
All right that's good and combined. Now we're going to add our eggs one by one.
All right next up we're going to add our dry ingredients. We've got two and a
fourth cup of all-purpose flour, one teaspoon of baking soda, and one
teaspoon of salt. You're going to add that in gradually as
well.
All right so the recipe usually calls for two cups of chocolate chips.
So I did one cup of chocolate chips and one cup of mini M&Ms.
We're going to go ahead and mix that in. Just be careful you don't want to crush
the M&Ms.
That's what your batter should look like. You don't want to overwork it too much.
Just mix it until it's combined. So now we're going to take a tablespoon here.
You're going to round it out, roll it into a ball, place it on your
non-stick cookie sheet, and then after that we'll add some
little M&Ms on top.
All right once you've got them all rolled out into the ball, we're going to
take our little mini M&Ms and stick some on top.
All right we're all set. We're going to stick these into our preheated oven at
375 degrees for about 9 to 11 minutes. Just keep an
eye on them. All right we just took the cookies out
of the oven as you can see over here. We're going to transfer them over to our
cookie racks to start cooling.
All right next up is the peanut butter blossoms. We're going to go ahead and
mix our wet ingredients and our sugar. So we've got a half cup of butter, one
egg, a half cup of smooth peanut butter, half
cup of granulated sugar, and a half cup of brown sugar that I mixed together.
So we're going to go ahead and add all this into our mixer and mix it up.
Start mixing this and then we'll add the sugar.
All right I went ahead and mixed up our dry ingredients that we're going to add.
We've got one and a half cups of all-purpose flour, three quarter
teaspoon of baking soda, and one half teaspoon of baking powder.
So again you want to mix this in gradually.
All right guys again we're going to take our tablespoon, round it into a ball,
roll it around, roll it in the sugar, and then place it on your ungreased cookie
sheet.
All right guys these are all set. We're going to stick these in our preheated
oven at 375 anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes. I'm going to
do 10 and then check on them from there and you're all set. All right guys just
like our candy cane blossoms that we made earlier
we are making blossoms here. These are peanut butter blossoms so we're going to
need some milk chocolate kisses. I went ahead and took them out of their
wrapper so we're ready to go. All right guys as you can see these just
came out of the oven. They're piping hot. We're going to go ahead and add our
kisses to them.
Okay now we're going to very quickly transfer them over to a cooling rack.
Here's what we've got so far. We just put another batch of our blossoms in the
oven. Don't these look good? My house
smells amazing. All right guys as you can see I've got all the cookies that I have
prepared all right here and ready to go. I'm going to start assembling our care
packages here. I got these really adorable little tins
from Dollar Tree so I've got three of them.
Like I said I'm going to drop these off on my family's doorstep, be a nice little
Christmas surprise for them. So I am still waiting on the blossoms to
cool a little bit but I am going to start assembling.
All right guys and there we have it. Beautiful assortment of Christmas care.
All right guys I went ahead and preheated my oven at 375 degrees.
Now we're going to go ahead and start getting our dry ingredients mixed
together. So you're going to need two and a half
cups of all-purpose flour.
Next you're going to need one and a half cups of granulated sugar.
You'll need one tablespoon and then one teaspoon of baking powder.
I know it seems a bit odd but I think that's what makes these cookies kind of
crinkle and puff up.
And last but not least one teaspoon of salt.
Okay now we're just going to stir to combine.
All right guys now we're going to move on to our wet ingredients. So you're
going to need one third cup melted butter.
Now mine has been sitting here for a while so it's not super hot. You don't
want it to be super hot. It will cook your eggs
So just be very careful with that. Two medium eggs at room temperature.
One tablespoon of vanilla extract.
And one teaspoon of mint extract.
You're going to go ahead and mix these on medium speed just until they're
combined.
Now you're going to need some green gel food coloring.
You can get any brand you'd like. So the recipe doesn't state how many drops.
It's more to your liking. So I'm going to add a few, mix it in,
and then add more if it needs it.
Okay I added quite a few more drops. It's still not quite green but I'm going to
go ahead and mix the dry with the wet and see how we are.
And I can always add more after. So you're going to want to add your dry
ingredients a little bit at a time.
All right guys here's what it looks like once it's mixed. It is supposed to be a
little bit crumbly as you can see because you're going to
roll it into a ball. It does reform. They are crinkle cookies so they kind
of separate on their own anyway. So don't be alarmed that this is how it
looks. It's supposed to look this way. All right I'm going to take this little
ice cream scoop or this cookie scoop, however you call it.
I'm going to take this, scoop it in there, pack it in
to make sure we've got the right size, release. I'm just going to form it into a
ball. I went ahead and lined my cookie sheet
with parchment paper. Once you've got it into a ball you're going to take it, push
it down slightly, and there we are. Now it says no more
than nine cookies per sheet so make sure that you don't overcrowd your pan
because the cookies need room to spread out.
All right guys these are ready to go. We're going to stick them in the oven at
375 for eight minutes. Just keep an eye on
them. Okay guys they've been in for just over eight minutes. I left them in a little
bit longer just so they got nice and crinkly.
So now what you're going to do, you're going to immediately place
your jumbo heart sprinkles. I got these from Michael's.
Into this, into the cookie so it looks like Grinch's heart.
All right guys next we're going to make these really simple Grinch pretzel bites.
It's just pretzels, candy melts, and a large sprinkle on top.
That's it. Super cute, very easy to do. So you're going to need some pretzel
snaps, some green candy melts,
and then I got these little candy sprinkles from Michael's. They are by
Wilton. If you can't find these you can also
use these. These are also by Wilton. They are a variety of pink
and red hearts. I did use these on my Grinch cookies. They're just a little bit
thinner, but I like these because they're kind of
like candy. So all right you're just going to take your pretzel snaps,
lay them out on a cookie sheet.
Got our pretzels laid out. Now I'm going to take our candy melts and stick one on
top of each one.
I'm gonna make sure they're somewhat centered because they are going to melt
a little bit.
From there you're just going to stick them in the oven at like 250 degrees
just for a minute or two, just until the candy melt starts to melt.
All right they're done. You can tell they're slightly shiny.
You're just going to stick your little candy right in there like that.
Push it down.
It'll work quickly because that chocolate is melting and once it comes
out of the oven it starts to cool. So get those on there quick.
That's what they look like. Very easy, very cute.
Next up we're going to make the Grinch popcorn. So you're going to need 10 cups
of popped popcorn or two packages of popcorn. You can always make it homemade,
you know the kind you make on the stove, but this is easier. So
two of these, some marshmallows, some M&M's, some green food coloring,
some butter, and we're going to get started. I'm going to go ahead and make
these in the microwave.
All right, got my popcorn popped. I'm going to set that aside. Now we're going
to work on our butter and our marshmallow mixture.
All right guys, we're going to melt three tablespoons of butter. All right, that
butter's nice and melted. We're going to add in our three cups of marshmallows.
Melt that down. Make sure you turn the heat down so you don't burn it.
We're essentially making marshmallow fluff.
If you've ever made Rice Krispie Treats, this is how you do that as well.
Once it's good and melted and no longer clumpy, you're going to turn off the heat.
All right, you're going to add your green food coloring. You can be generous with
this. You want it to be nice and bright green.
Perfect Grinch green. All right, now we're going to take it over and pour it over
our popcorn. All right, you're going to take your
green marshmallow butter mixture and just pour it over your popcorn.
And then you're going to want to toss to combine.
All right, once you've got it good and mixed like so, we're going to spread it
out onto a baking sheet and let it cool.
Now this is when you're going to add your M&Ms and your extra
white marshmallows. You want to do it while it's hot so when it cools,
it will kind of glue it in there. Marshmallows.
Even for some fun, you can add some of those heart sprinkles for the Grinch's
heart. All right, it's done. You're just going to
let it cool and then we'll transfer it to a bowl and it's ready to eat.
Last but not least is the Grinch Punch. Now the recipe I'm following does make a
very large batch, so I'm going to split it in half just for
my family. So what you're going to need is some lemon-lime Kool-Aid packets.
These bring me back to my childhood. It was kind of hard to find these,
but if you can't find them, you can always use like a lemonade packet.
I think the lemon-lime is just for the bright green color, but
Kool-Aid, pineapple concentrate, and some lemonade concentrate,
some Sprite, some sugar, some sanding sugar for the rim. You guys will see how
we use this at the end. And then of course some ice. You'll add
that at the end as well. All right guys, first things first, we're going to add
two quarts of water to our pitcher. Next we're going to add the Kool-Aid
packet and the sugar.
Directions on the back of the Kool-Aid packet call for one cup.
A lot of sugar. Now we're going to mix until the sugar is dissolved.
All right, looks good. You're going to need eight ounces of pineapple juice
and eight ounces of lemonade concentrate.
Mix that in. Now this is the color you should end up with. It's
very, very green, very bright. We're going to set our juice to the side here.
Now we're going to take that red sanding sugar,
going to dump some out on a plate. All right, next up you're going to take
the glasses that you're going to put your juice
in. You've got your sanding sugar. I've got a little shallow bowl of water,
as you can see. We're going to stick our cup upside down
in the water so it just gets the rim wet. As you guys can see, get that rim good and
wet. And you're going to stick it in your
sanding sugar. And that's what you're left with. Very
cute little touch.
All right, now you're going to take another pitcher, fill it about halfway
with ice. Take and take our juice mixture, fill it
about halfway. A little bit more. Fill the rest with
Sprite. Mix that up. I'm going to add a little
bit more juice. And there you have it. Now we're just
going to put, pour our drink. There you go. Grinch
Super cute, very easy, and it tastes good too.
