AI GeneratedThis tutorial provides a beginner-friendly guide to creating a simple acrylic landscape featuring a waterfall, a moonlit sky, and trees. The instructor emphasizes the use of water for blending and demonstrates how to build a scene using basic shapes, layering colors, and utilizing unconventional tools like makeup brushes and toothbrushes for texture and detail.
Okay, I've got some leftover paint. Let's create. I'm going to show you a simple way of creating a
landscape. Very simple, straight to the point. If you're a beginner, you can do this. No matter what
level, skill level you are, you can paint along. I've got some lamp black, some blue turquoise,
a little bit of violet, and titanium white. Let's add a little bit of water to the canvas.
I'm working on an 8 by 10 inch canvas panel. I've got a 1 inch flat brush,
so I'm going to spread that water over the canvas, get it evenly coated. A little bit of
water on your canvas really helps with blending. I've tried to remember to mention that in every
tutorial. It really, really helps. It can make or break whether you stick with learning to paint
Okay, so let's take some blue and we're going to go create a big circle,
paint around that circle, wash your brush out. Let's take our violet and paint the circle inside
and we're going to have it blend in with the blue. Let's wash our brushes out again.
Take a dry and clean soft mop brush. This is a makeup brush and I'm just going to go over and
soften even more with a clean brush. You're going to take a little bit of white and we're going to
add another little circle inside. It's going to blend in with the violet and make a lighter,
softer shade. Now we're going to take a little bit of that white with a bit of turquoise mixed in
and I'm going to come down with a little bit to left to right making it wider and wider
and then I'm going to pull down. Now we've got a waterfall. I'm going to take my pinky,
dab it into the white and apply a little dab there for a little moon. If you don't get it
right the first time, soften with a small brush. This is the number three mini round brush.
Bring a little soft halo making it glow a little bit more. This will help add a little bit more
mood and atmosphere to your paintings. I'm going to take a number 14 filbert brush,
white and violet mixed on the end of my brush and I'm going to start tapping
little pushes on either side. I'm going to switch to a larger brush and I'm going to take
a little bit of turquoise. I'm going to start tapping where I left off, a little bit higher
this time though. Now I'm going to mix a little bit of black and I'm going to start coming in
a little bit fuller in here. I'm starting to twist and turn it up. Clean brush, turquoise
and a little bit of white. We're going to add some highlights on part of the turquoise.
I'm going to add a little bit in here as well but I kind of like it a little bit darker.
I'm going to take my filbert brush again, a little bit of violet, a little bit of blue, black,
dark muted charcoal gray. I'm going to add a few little rocks in here just gently pushing
making them a little bigger here in the foreground. Then I'm going to start adding
some trees. I'll add a little line right here and then I'm going to turn my brush this way and start
pushing and tapping. I'm going to add on here a little bit lower and further back.
All right then I'm going to take black, a little bit of water just to help thin that out. It'll flow better
and bring that right down off the canvas.
I'm going to take a damp brush, pull into a little bit of this black that I just applied and add this to the edge
making it a little bit darker, not much. I'm going to take my liner brush,
black, I'm going to pull a few little broken branches just twisting and wiggling.
Add a little bit of soft light, a little bit of turquoise and white.
I'm going to add another layer, straight black on this tree.
It's fading away too much and not standing out quite as much as I want it to.
Okay let's take a toothbrush now, get it wet, gently scrub it in to load it into any pastel
color you want, either the light purple but I don't have much left so I'm just going to use
turquoise and white and we're going to pull it back and spray some stars. I'm going to take a
little bit of what I've got left here, my violet and white with my little round brush, add some
light on those rocks. I'm going to add just a little bit of light from the moon part of the tree.
I'm going to take a little bit more turquoise and white, I'm going to add some little loops in here
for some light on some clouds that we never had before but now we can just
create them. I'm just going and adding little scoops, even bringing them right out over top of
that violet is quite nice and then over here we'll go over the opposite color and a little bit of
that pink over the turquoise areas. Do the same over here. Okay this little painting is done,
I hope you guys enjoyed this one. Thanks for watching, let me know if this helped improve
your thought process when painting in acrylics. I want to hear from all you beginners out there.
See you next time, bye!
