Knicks Next Move LEAKED...
Aug 31, 2026
The New York Knicks next trade has been leaked as an insider has revealed a major update
on a long time Nick who is getting moved according to new reports right now as the Knicks still
look for that young big man to add to their team to improve their depth and guys there's
a lot to go over on this front and we're not going to waste your time we're going to jump
right into the video as we usually do just real quick make sure to go ahead and subscribe
because guys Knicks news is back and 66% of viewers are currently unsubscribed it is
completely free to do and we do have Knicks videos coming out every single day on the
team right now as now we are entering September where we do see a lot of news happen as training
camp is going to begin we'll see some preseason stuff start to happen and basketball is going
to be back before we know it but guys here's the thing it doesn't mean the team is done
making moves as we know Leon Rose in the front office want to add another big man to the
team preferably they want a young shot-blocking big man on a cheap contract preferably a rookie
contract is what they're looking for now those are not easy to come by but the Knicks they have
an influx of guards and one of them has a contract ending very soon in Deuce McBride who is gonna be
getting a pretty big payday so when asked about the future of him this is what Knicks insider
James Edwards had to say Edwards said unless the two sides reach an agreement before the start of
the season it feels like we're heading towards the departure for Deuce McBride just based on
history Leon Rose in the Knicks front office brass usually trade players who they're far apart
in extension talks with except for Mitchell Robinson who we established has a unique skill
set that was important to the title run so the Knicks held on to him as long as possible now
New York did great business in 2023 when it signed an unproven but talented McBride to a three-year
13 million dollar contract the Knicks saw the development behind the scenes and decision
makers figured they could get the second round pick for a low price while giving him some security
since then McBride has greatly outperformed this current contract surely he's looking for a
substantially larger annual salary than four million ish that he's been earning over the last
three seasons McBride has become a highly efficient three-point shooter and is a solid on ball
defender he'll likely get the pay bump he's looking for in the open market and on top of that Edwards
did mention that McBride is a good player but the Knicks do have one of the league's smallest
backcourts they have three rotation players listed at six two or shorter Jalen Brunson Deuce McBride
also McBride is more of a shooting guard than a point guard and Landry Shamit in the fold it's
possible New York could see McBride as more expendable ultimately the Knicks don't have
many routes to upgrade their roster McBride's expiring contract is most obvious as they have
other options to fill his role surely New York would like to keep McBride but another team could
probably pay the guard closer to what he will be looking for that's the big thing we have to go
over when we look at Deuce McBride look Deuce is great no one's gonna sit here and act like
Deuce McBride is not great he absolutely is he's a very important player to the team who's important
to the title run he was important through all these years had been the Knicks sixth man up until
he got injured halfway through the season and only played in 41 games he would make his way back but
at the end of the day by the time he was missing time it had things that changed a little bit and
even once he came back to the role the Knicks they didn't hold on to that for long as we started to
see his minutes decrease over time now that's not saying Deuce has not still been effective for the
Knicks he absolutely has been he's been a very important piece of this team and at the end of
the day he's someone who he is certainly hard to replace but the Knicks they do have multiple
players and again it's tough to replace a guy who's putting up 12 points two and a half rebounds
and two and a half assists per game while shooting 41% from three getting nearly a steal is a great
on-ball point of attack defender but at the same time we look at Deuce and we did see a bit of a
in production and minutes coming in the playoffs when he wasn't the sixth man of the team anymore
that's something important to note he became more of a rotational bench piece than the sixth man
that he had been over the last couple of seasons and even though the Knicks are very good with Deuce
at the same time but you do have Jose Alvarado and Landry Schammett as a backup backcourt you do see
a world where Deuce becomes expendable especially when you consider guys like Mohamed Diawara who
are around and other players as well but Deuce in the 19 playoff games put up 5.6 points and only
played 17 minutes a substantial decrease around 10 minutes per game decrease and he shot a little
bit worse from three and didn't shoot too well from the field now he had great moments I mean
he had that game against the Philadelphia 76ers that was awesome when the Knicks closed him out
but at the same time let's look at where the Knicks are right now let's look at the depth chart
that we think of we know the starting five with JB, Josh, Mikael, OG, Kat and then off the bench we
have the backup centers obviously Andre Drummond you've got Jose Alvarado as a backup point guard
you have Landry Schammett as a backup wing you have Mohamed Diawara who you can play you have
four guys that you don't need Deuce McBride around the Knicks just extended Diawara on a cheap deal
and want to see him play well now here's the thing with Deuce too in the NBA finals we did see
Landry Schammett be the team's sixth man averaging 25 minutes per game over those five games
Schammett took over as the sixth man of the team 100% and when we look at Deuce here we did see
that he did play substantially less minutes per game in the finals going down to 14 minutes per
game Schammett took over as this team's sixth man so not only has Deuce lost the spot as a back
or not lost the spot as a backup shooting guard but is he more expendable now because the Knicks
have other options for that position absolutely they do and on top of that we just look at where
Deuce is and yeah his contract is good don't get me wrong but he's lost the sixth man role and
frankly he's got a 2.9 million dollar contract this year who's an average annual value of 4
million per year over those couple of years but at the same time when we look at Deuce right now
he is an expendable contract the Knicks need to make some moves here it's no secret that Andre
Drummond is not going to be a long-term solution for the Knicks backup center spot yes next year
he's going to be the backup center and I'm happy about that I've talked openly about how much I
think Andre Drummond is perfect for this team but at the same time we look at where Deuce is at we
look at how Deuce is really going about his role and it is one of those things that you can replace
I mean you have Landry Schammett's shooting you have Jose Alvarado's just ability to play make
and handle the ball and then frankly when you have Mohamed Diawara who next year looks like
he'll be a solid 3 and D guy as he continues to develop into something more and then you add
Andre Drummond that is a fine bench it's a good bench in fact they've all proven to be important
players and on top of that the Knicks will probably add some more talent as well as time goes on
we'll see obviously Tyler Nichol is there he can add some shooting as well so the Knicks can use
him they're gonna have options that they're gonna want to build up on cheap contracts and Deuce
yes he's on a cheap contract but it's only for another year and before we know it he's not going
to be on a cheap contract he's going to be quite an expensive contract going forwards and honestly
a team will try to outbid him to weaken the Knicks the same way the Celtics did with Mitchell Robinson
in the Knicks the Knicks don't want to go into the second apron and to get to retain Deuce there's a
good chance they would have to go into the second apron if they signed Deuce to an extension now
they can't trade him until after the deadline meaning that they could trade him eventually but
it would not be during this season meaning if they wanted to make an upgrade for a big man
someone and I'm just using this as an example because we know the Knicks are interested
in someone like an Yves Messi well here's the issue you need Deuce to do it the Pelicans are
not going to take Bacombe Dadier in a couple second round picks that's just unrealistic the
Knicks would need to dangle Deuce the same thing goes for a Moussa Diabate or Ryan Kochbrenner or
whoever the Hornets do end up deciding to trade from their influx of big men and then at the same
time even if the Knicks were looking for Karlo Matkovic I do think it's important to note that
Deuce likely becomes the guy who gets traded there as well that could be a straight-up swap it
wouldn't be stunned to see something like that as well so overall I do think there are a few
different options and Deuce is the most tradable guy in the Knicks so it would make sense the
Knicks would decide hey unfortunately we're gonna have to move on from him the Knicks didn't want
to move on from Emmanuel quickly either their former backup combo guard before Deuce but at
the same time they were far on extension talks they didn't want to pay him all that money it
would have hindered them so they didn't and they traded him for OG who became one of the most
important players in Knicks history so trust me as important as Deuce is their 100% will certainly
be a whole lot of trade talk surrounding him and the Knicks trying to find ways to upgrade the
roster keep it full of winners and trying to win a second NBA title what do you guys think let me

day guys and GO KNICKS!
