Hey what's up guys, welcome back. Today I'm going to show you how I make my chocolate hazelnut spread, aka Nutella.
So first up, you're going to toast all your nuts. Here I have hazelnuts, some peanuts, and sliced almonds.
You can do it in an oven at 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes, just until they darken, or in a pan like I'm doing here, on medium to high heat for about the same time.
Once they're nice and golden brown, I'm going to add some water and cook them for another 10-15 minutes, just until they soften.
I'm also going to sweeten the mixture with a little brown sugar and season it with a pinch of salt.
Alright, so once the nut mixture is done cooking, you're going to pour it into a blender top or a food processor,
and essentially just puree the mixture on the highest setting for about 5-10 minutes, and get it as smooth as can be.
Alright, so after you're done pureeing up the nut mixture, and you've got it as smooth as you can get it, put it into a large mixing bowl,
add some cocoa powder and some dark chocolate chips. You can also add some vanilla paste if you want.
Give it a good mix, just so everything is completely melted and thoroughly incorporated.
Then you're going to throw it into a fridge for about an hour to set up.
Alright, so once the spread has cooled down and thickened, I'm going to give it a finishing touch with a sprinkle of Maldon salt.
It'll give it a nice savory bite.
Then store the majority of it in mason jars so I can use it basically whenever I want within the next month.
Alright, so once you're done putting the chocolate hazelnut spread away, whatever is left over in the bowl,
I scoop out and put into a small ramekin so I can dip some good old-fashioned sliced apples in it.
It's my absolute favorite pairing.
Once everything is done, all there is to do is sit back and enjoy this delicious chocolate hazelnut spread.
Alright guys, Nutella Week is official.
I made this delicious homemade Nutella that's going to be the base for all my Nutella Week recipes, which I'm really excited to make.
It's slightly grainier than a store-bought Nutella, but this is pretty similar, almost identical to what you'd get at a store.
It's just delicious. The whole process is really fun, so I definitely recommend trying it out.
I'm excited to taste this and tell you guys how I did, so let me dig in.
A little sliced apple. I mean, I love Nutella because literally almost any fruit is perfect with this.
Apples are probably my number one choice, and this looks absolutely delicious.
Alright, so good. You can do so many different things with Nutella. That's why I love it.
Crepes, just some simple cut-up fruit, different kinds of cakes.
I'm probably going to do a cheesecake recipe, so be on the lookout.
But there are so many different recipes you can utilize Nutella with, so I'm excited for Nutella Week.
I'm very happy with the way this turned out. The texture is just so awesome, nice and gooey.
Something about this hazelnut chocolate spread, it's just addicting.
Got the sweet, a little bit of savory from the sea salt. The hazelnuts are great. It's a good recipe.
Very good homemade Nutella recipe. I absolutely recommend trying this out and playing with it with a few different recipes.
That's what I'll be doing throughout this week, so be sure to check all the rest of the recipes out.
