Iran puts a bounty on Barron Trump.
The mail-in voting debate rages on.
And Los Angeles is more corrupt than even your Fox News-obsessed uncle thinks.
Kind of impressive, actually.
That and more on this week's America Uncovered headlines.
Welcome to America Uncovered, I'm Chris Chappell.
It is a dark time in America.
Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have both passed away.
They were two of the few things Democrats and Republicans could both agree were awesome.
How could anyone disagree?
Just look at this music video Dolly Parton did with Hulk Hogan for a song called
He's Got a Headlock on My Heart.
This is legend stuff right here.
Speaking of legend, well, need I say more?
Maybe because of her association with his old pal the Hulkster, Trump announced he would
be lowering the American flag for a whole week in honor of Parton.
Both the left and the right alike thought this was a wonderful gesture.
That's how powerful Dolly was.
She made everyone agree with something Trump did.
This hasn't happened since 2008, when he fired Stephen Baldwin on The Celebrity Apprentice.
Wait, is that why Alec hates him so much?
And before you go complaining that Trump isn't lowering the flag in honor of Tim Curry, remember
that the American flag only gets lowered for American heroes, and Tim Curry is French?
Anyway, rest in peace to these icons.
Tim Curry and Dolly Parton were both 80.
And Dolly Parton's boobs were 23.
Now it feels like there's nothing left to unite America.
And we need unity because we're still at war with Iran, and they're getting desperate.
So desperate, they broadcast a video titled Where to Kill Barron Trump that implied President
Trump's son Barron is fully monitored and place a 10 million bounty on his head.
Let's recap.
Trump has killed through their line of succession so thoroughly, their current ayatollah is
made from the same stuff as an Amazon package.
And as I discussed in my last episode, the Trump administration is currently putting
them in an economic rear naked choke.
And this was all BEFORE they threatened to murder his youngest son.
Although maybe they really wanted to do a new 9-11 and just mistook him for a skyscraper.
Either way, it's like the IRGC has a death wish.
I don't know if we should be at war with them, or providing them with the number for
a suicide hotline.
Remember to reach out to the authoritarian Islamic extremist regimes in your life to
see how they're doing.
Instead of threatening to go assassinate the son of their enemy, Iran should post evidence
of Barron doing insider trading.
Which people are claiming he's doing.
That'd be a way more effective way of taking that skyscraper down.
Because if true, this would be the most outrageous thing the child of a president has done since
George W. Bush invaded Iraq.
Thank goodness we didn't jump into another Middle East quagmire over dubious claims of
weapons of mass destruction.
But everyone knows Trump's don't do insider trading.
They offered paid early access to their posts so others can insider trade.
They're such givers.
So yeah, Trump is still beefing with Iran.
And now he's getting into the literal beef business because Trump announced a temporary
pause of beef import tariffs in an effort to lower prices.
He claimed this is because under President Biden, beef prices soared and the American
beef herd fell to its smallest size in modern history.
So for the next 90 days, the U.S. will allow up to 300,000 metric tons of product for ground
beef to be imported with no tariff.
This of course leaves us with the classic obvious question.
Where's the beef coming from?
We don't know, because the Trump administration hasn't told us.
If I had to guess, it's possibly because the deals aren't finalized.
Trump just kind of says things, you know.
You can tell by the word count on his Truth Social posts.
Man, I miss the days of 140 character tweets.
Brevity is so beautiful.
Having fewer characters builds characters, I say.
But because Trump hasn't said where the beef is coming from, this has led people to
guess.
And as you can imagine, these are all measured scientific hypotheses based on fact and probability.
I'm just kidding.
People are assuming the worst and theorizing we're getting contaminated Argentine beef,
after nearly 30,000 pounds of Argentine beef was recalled earlier this month.
Or maybe even horse meat.
Which um, I guess it could be worse.
If you know, you know.
But yeah, people aren't too happy about this.
Ranchers are especially upset, saying flooding the market with foreign goods will hurt domestic
producers and is not America first.
So to try and get more votes in the midterm, Trump is encouraging the import of foreign
beef to lower prices.
However, this could wind up hurting him in the midterms, as GOP lawmakers and ranchers,
many of whom are MAGA Republicans, are speaking out against it.
But hey, I'm optimistic this plan will work.
After all, Trump's last venture into beef was such a roaring success, that's why we
still all are enjoying Trump Steaks to this very day.
Cattle ranchers aren't the only ones who could face economic hardships, since Canada
has slapped retaliatory tariffs on US goods worth 20 billion dollars.
So yeah, this Canada tariff war will continue until morale improves.
Though I think the only morale improving is from people who saw the South Park movie and
thought, man, we should go to war with Canada.
As I discussed in a recent episode, Canada can't win an economic war with the US in
the long term.
But in the short term, they may damage Trump, because this tariff war could rattle economies
and border states with key Senate races, like Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Alaska.
So is Mark Carney going to economic war over spite?
Honestly, I think Trump could appreciate that.
Because if anyone knows anything about doing things out of spite, it's the guy trying
to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America, with an executive order.
And he says an ocean is next.
I wonder if Trump sees Canada getting petty and thinks,
I'm impressed.
Didn't know you had it in you, Neutrido.
But Trump has another strategy for winning the midterms—limiting mail-in voting.
And he may have gotten help with that from the Supreme Court, which eased the path for
his executive order limits on mail-in balloting in a 6-3 decision.
I knew they would side with Trump.
They're compromised.
This Supreme Court is helping Trump turn America into a dictatorship.
Forget about the dozens of times they've ruled against Trump, or chosen not to take
up his cases, and Trump supporters have called Amy Coney Barrett, Amy Commie Barrett.
So what is actually going on here?
Well, the executive order does basically three things.
It orders the Department of Homeland Security to work with the Social Security Administration
to send lists of eligible voters to the chief election official of each state, based on
their records.
Bars the US Postal Service from sending mail-in ballots to people who are not on state lists.
And requires states to use special envelopes for mail-in ballots.
But the Supreme Court didn't rule on any of that.
They just said that it was too early for states suing Trump over the executive order to do
so, meaning there will for sure be future legal challenges.
On top of that, one part of the executive order is still blocked under a separate legal
challenge that SCOTUS hasn't looked at yet.
With all of these lawsuits, I'm starting to think maybe I should have been a lawyer.
Who would have known that that would have been a more lucrative career than yelling
at a camera in a basement in front of a green screen?
Who, I tell you!
So ultimately, nothing changes, but it could open the door to chaos in the future.
Wait, chaos is a door?
Game of Thrones taught me it was a ladder.
Maybe chaos used to be a ladder, but then got changed to a door after being sued for
not being ADA-compliant.
I'm telling you, I should have been a lawyer.
But we need to talk about Republicans and Democrats' reasonings for being for or against
mail-in voting.
Republicans say this is to prevent fraud, even though there's little evidence to support
their claims of widespread mail-in voting fraud leading to changed outcomes in elections.
That's not to say there aren't other strange things going on, like a judge blocking an
Ohio law that required proof of citizenship for voter registration.
Opponents of the law say it created an unnecessary hurdle for people who wanted to register to
vote when picking up a driver's license.
That unnecessary hurdle, of course, being proving they're actually eligible to vote.
Meanwhile, Democrats support mail-in voting because according to them, without it, millions
of people wouldn't be able to make it to the polls.
They're trying to sound democratic, but honestly, it sounds like more of an insult.
We need mail-in voting because Americans are too fat, stupid, and lazy to get to the polls.
Also, if, as the left says, mail-in voter fraud never happens, then why wouldn't they
support an executive order that codifies rules to try and make sure it never happens?
Let's end on another edition of my favorite segment,
Really California, Really?
It turns out Los Angeles is crazier than you think.
Which is impressive if you've ever been to Hollywood Boulevard.
One time there, I saw a guy in a Spider-Man costume pull a knife on a guy also dressed
like Spider-Man.
While behind them, a dog stepped in a pile of human poop.
If you want to know what makes LA so crazy, I'll let LA Mayor Karen Bass explain.
Thanks to LA's SuperMatch program, every qualified donation from Los Angeles residents
is matched 6-1 by the city.
But after the primary, we had to start over from scratch.
So we need you to rush your matching donation right now to help fuel this campaign.
Shippin' 5 dollars right now, and the city turns it into 35.
Now I'm just a simple country YouTuber, but did she say the city would match the donations
for her re-election campaign?
The city that's funded by taxpayers and run by the mayor who decides how to spend taxpayer
money?
And the worst part of all this is, she can, because it's actually legal, thanks to Los
Angeles City Charter 471, which is a public matching funds program.
This created a trust that puts a few million dollars of taxpayer money into it, and allows
candidates that qualify to partake.
According to the charter, this was established because they say using your money to endorse
a candidate is a legitimate way of using your voice, so this helps boost your voice.
Which is a wholesome, democratic way of saying taxpayer money is being given directly to
politicians.
But hey, when LA residents drive over yet another pothole that's been on their street
for 11 years, I'm sure they're thinking, thank goodness they're not fixing this,
so that people's money, I mean, voice, can be amplified.
I hope whatever cut of the 17 billion dollar meta-settlement California get goes to funding
political campaigns.
That's what Los Angeles really needs.
It's no wonder terrible, unpopular, financially irresponsible policies have a headlock over
Los Angeles politics.
Same way that Hulk Hogan had a headlock on Dolly Parton's heart.
Rest in peace, legends.
