Oh my god.
Another day, another Monterey Car Week vlog.
Hit that subscribe button and turn that notification bell on if you haven't already.
We are about to check out the new Ferrari Luce
and potentially the most expensive McLaren to ever sell,
the F1 GTR for maybe north of 40 million dollars.
Here we are at the RM auctions.
Behind me is a legendary Ferrari Enzo actually commissioned for the family of Brunei.
It's a sealed bidding, so we're not going to know the final price,
but likely north of maybe 15 million dollars.
But the most expensive cars that we're going to see today are actually right out there.
A lot of you guys will probably recognize this car owned by Supercar Ron.
It's a one of five Mercy SV with a manual.
Even the air in the room feels expensive.
How beautiful is this purple and black Bugatti?
A slew of priceless classic cars.
There are three classic cars I would do anything for,
and this is one of them.
The Ford GT40, the 300 SL Gullwing, and the 250 GTO as well.
But there's something crazy about this Ford race car that beat Ferrari.
This is a Mark 1 GT40.
They only made 31 of these.
Such a timeless design.
How sick is this bizzarini?
The shape of it is unreal.
Look at the vents in the hood.
There are so many different cuts in the bodywork.
Well guys, here it is.
The McLaren F1 GTR chassis number 10R.
This is expected to exceed $35 million at the RM auction.
It's one of two GTR short tails.
So come around to the rear.
This is actually the only McLaren F1 GTR with a factory livery.
Pop art style, kind of controversial looks,
but I actually kind of dig it in person.
Let's go around to the back.
This is actually the most powerful, fastest version of the F1 GTR made in 1996.
This has got to be absolutely insane.
So we're going to see this go up on the auction block.
I don't believe there's a reserve.
Is it going to exceed $35 million?
We're going to find out.
Interestingly, I'm noticing that the hood seems to have warped a little bit,
but this car was actually raced in Le Mans.
So it's no surprise, probably in original condition.
How awesome is that roof scoop?
Center seat layout.
Normally the McLaren F1 is a three-seater.
This one looks like it only has two.
They removed the side passenger seat.
But I would have expected in a race car, it actually would have only had one seat.
I'm curious what you guys think of the livery.
The yellow wheels are pretty crazy, but actually in person, this looks insane.
That GTR badge.
Look at the exhaust, the mufflers, and then the exhaust tips,
and then that gold foil inside.
Naturally aspirated V12, making north of 640 horsepower.
The road car went over 240 miles an hour.
This one a little bit slower because of the rear wing.
So excited to see what this is going to sell for.
Here's a Ferrari I have never seen before.
A 512 BBLM.
It almost looks like a Camaro.
Check this out.
I mean, I have never seen a Ferrari with this shape to it.
It does kind of have knockaducts like the F40.
This is from 1979.
So it predates that knockaduct on the side.
That massive rear wing.
And then look how big that engine bay is.
That massive engine.
That is crazy.
How awesome is this lineup of Ferraris?
Now behind me is a 288 GTO.
This is actually one of the most exciting to drive Ferraris ever.
Unfortunately, I've only gotten to drive it off camera, but I was absolutely blown away.
And honestly, while the looks are more subtle than the rest of the Ferrari Big 5,
I am in love with how these things look.
I actually prefer how the 288 GTO drives more than the F40.
Then we've got the LaFerrari behind it.
And my favorite of the Big 5.
The Ferrari F50 with that F1 derived NA V12 and manual transmission.
This thing is the goat of all Ferraris.
When I was younger, I was not a huge fan of the way the F50 looked.
But then when I drove it, it just rattled my brain.
And I literally don't care what it looks like whatsoever.
It just drives so well.
Everything else is irrelevant.
But the looks have grown on me quite a bit.
Still more of a fan of the F40 looks, but priceless.
Gorgeous 911 Turbo.
Carrera RS.
Roof Turbo R.
This thing is wild looking.
Kind of 993 Turbo vibes, but more extreme.
We're at the Portola Hotel.
Really cool roundabout here.
This is basically where you pull up when you stay at the hotel.
SLR 722 Roadster.
Gorgeous singer.
And then look at this, my other favorite classic car.
The 300 SL.
Oh man, speciale.
Gosh, I miss mine so much.
Ferrari F40.
Looking stunning as always.
And look at this.
Could be DTM.
CLK DTM Prototype.
Wow, that's nuts.
Carrera RS.
Beautiful Testarossa.
I wish they made the 849 look more like that.
I don't know why it doesn't have the side stripes.
Christine, I know which one you like.
Of course, of course, of course.
And then I think the best driving, basically, current modern Ferrari.
Now, I haven't driven the Daytona SP3.
But the A12 Competizione Aperta is just unreal.
It's actually super raw.
A lot more so than like the SF90 XX.
And they crushed it with the design language.
How sick is this roof?
With a roof scoop on a roof.
Crazy interior dials.
But the front end goes so hard.
And then behind it, one of the coolest looking Porsches of all time.
The Porsche 959.
For some reason, some people aren't a fan of the design language.
I absolutely love the way this car looks.
All-wheel drive.
The back end of this BB512 is nuts.
Perhaps the smallest car to highest price ratio.
This baby Bugatti for $15,000.
I'm pretty sure only my dog could drive this thing.
Later tonight, there are two cars I'm particularly interested in seeing what they sell for.
We're going to have the Ferrari Luce.
That's actually going up for auction as a charity auction.
And they're expecting north of a million dollars for the electric Luce.
The craziest part is even at a million dollars, you can't take delivery of it for 18 months.
You win the car.
It goes back to Maranello.
And then eventually they grace you with its presence.
Unfortunately, we can't even see the car until it rolls onto the blocks to sell.
Which feels very Ferrari.
Daytona SP3 that just sold for $20 million driving by.
Man, the rich get richer.
I think the MSRP for that car was like three and a half or four million dollars.
Then all of a sudden they were 10 and now they're 20.
Ridiculous.
The crazy stuff that happens during car week, my rear tires were kind of low on pressure.
And because it's colder here, they dipped below.
So all of a sudden my car is like whining at me.
So we stopped to fill up the tire pressure at a gas station.
And I see an AC Cobra and a Delta Integrale.
And I'm like, didn't Matte Rimac come up from LA in those cars?
And then it turns out that was the same crew.
Crazy.
Super nice guys.
And then right now there's an epic CT5V Blackwing behind me.
I missed that car.
Nice Yaris perf.
I wanted to take the Blackwing to car week, but I was a little bit afraid I was going to get state
ref because it is pretty darn loud.
All right.
How random is this?
I've talked to him before online, but I have never actually met Cory Funk in person before.
And I just let Cory Funk drive my car.
Dude, I can't believe you just let me do that.
Thanks for finally...
Great to finally meet you.
Thanks for not crashing it.
Oh, of course, man.
I could never do that.
I'll just break my little heart.
Good to see you, dude.
So he goes, hey, I'm filming a vlog asking millionaires if I can drive their super car.
And he just pulls up and I let him drive my car.
I think you just felt flattered that he thought you were a millionaire.
Car spotting fire trucks now.
That thing is sick, actually.
Probably worth a lot more than most of the supercars on the road.
That is a really rare truck.
It is.
That's probably the nicest spec fire truck I've ever seen.
Did you know that I think side apart and put it back...
The whole truck?
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
That's super cool.
I did not know that.
And look, talking about clean fire trucks, look at their freaking fire department.
Are you kidding me?
That is the coolest looking fire department I have ever seen.
It actually looks like a movie scene.
Look at this.
Another E39 M5.
I need one of these so badly.
Oh my gosh.
Finally found some parking on Ocean Ave to go car spotting and eat.
Got a 12-cylinder spider and a crazy spec.
And then look at this SF90 XX spider.
That is ridiculous.
A cam ZR1 with the engine just sticking out the hood and a parachute on the back.
That is a cop's wet dream during car week.
Look at that.
All blacked out 600LT catless downpipes.
That looks clean.
Wow.
This guy pulled up in the whatchamacallit.
Look at this chopped off Porsche.
That is sick.
So rivuelto means scramble in Italian.
And this guy's license plate is scrambled.
We're going to try something I've never done before.
We're going to pull over on Highway 1 in a pullout
and actually do some car spotting from the side of the road.
E92 and E28 M5.
I feel like OG supercars of London right now, except it's supercars of Monterey.
No idea what's about to come.
There's no drives planned or anything that I know about.
Then Christine's just passed out in the car right now.
That sounded good.
All right, we got a Mercy coming.
And an SF90.
Oh, Super Trofeo.
We're switching locations.
That was a bit underwhelming.
Once again, a Zonda passed me and I wasn't able to get my camera out in time.
And there was a car behind it filled with like 30 people in one car,
all with their cameras out.
F40 randomly flying by.
Let's go.
Gordon Murray for president is the best.
Trying a quick little 17 mile drive loop before we head to the auctions
to see that F1 and Luce.
Porsche squad.
Look at this.
Huayra BC Roadster.
Oh, E60 M5.
Holy lineup of Aston Martins.
Damn.
So we just tried to go car spotting at Spanish Bay,
which has always been one of the coolest places to go to see crazy cars.
And I knew there were going to be an issue
because I had heard rumors online that they weren't letting anyone in anymore.
So I said that Christine needed to go to the bathroom,
which was actually true 10 minutes ago.
And they said I have to pay $100 to go in.
And I'm like, I literally am going to drop my girlfriend off with my hazards on.
They're like, oh, it's $100.
Just let people car spot.
What?
It's also valet only, which is like the worst nightmare
to the vast majority of these people that are even staying there
and driving their $20 million Ferrari 250 GT California Spider.
They're not going to want their car valet.
Look at that.
Blue LaFerrari Aperta.
Lean 993.
So at this point, I haven't fully determined what the title of the video is going to be.
But if it's related to the Luce, I can see the comments already.
There was not enough content on the Luce.
The plan was to film a full walk around, see the car in person for the first time,
check out the exterior and the interior.
But Ferrari is literally hiding the car until the very last second,
probably to prevent me from walking around and saying it sucks.
But I wanted to actually get a close look.
But we're going to see it soon.
Ultimate LARPer.
Look at his bidding bid.
I'm down.
You buying the F1?
On that thing?
I'm bidding $11 million as soon as it comes out.
Tase is buying the F1.
We bought a car yesterday.
Yeah, I know.
Big Joe, you ready?
Hey, guys.
How much do you think that one's going for?
Honestly, if you want my final number, I'm going to go.
I'm thinking that is just under $40 million.
Yeah, $39.6.
All right.
Well, yeah, yeah.
I'll split it.
Our entire crew, pump chat is buying the F1.
I might buy the brakes on the car.
This honestly seems like a steal for 300 SL.
Oh my God.
Wow.
$4.4 million for an 812 comp aperta.
Oh my God.
321 mile F40.
Just started at $5 million.
Oh, all right.
The market has gone just absolutely nuts.
What's happening?
Yeah, you couldn't even throw in a fake six there.
Oh my God.
$7 million for an F40.
Wow.
$7.6 million for a Ferrari F40.
There we go.
McLaren F1 GTR coming out.
Oh, and driving.
Let's go.
There it is.
Ladies and gentlemen, it was acquired in 1999 by rock and roll legend, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd,
who enjoyed the car for 25 years.
One of only two McLaren F1 GTR short tail prototypes along with the 95 Le Mans winner.
This car was driven at the 1996 Le Mans 24 hours during testing
and converted by the McLaren factory for road use.
An end of an era with the F1 GTR being the last Le Mans winning race car with an
unrepeatable opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic McLaren F1s ever built.
Look at this, the entire place is packed getting ready for this auction.
Where do we start on a car like this?
Do we have...
Sorry?
Yeah, he's over here.
Thank you.
So we start with 20, dude.
Thank you.
It's a $20 million opening bid.
$22 million.
Thank you, Bodhi.
$23 million online.
$24 million with Matt Halliburton.
$25 million with Bodhi.
$25 million.
$26 million online.
There's four of you on the car.
$27 million with Michael.
$27 million.
A $27 million.
$28 million with Mr Duff.
A $28 million.
$29 million Shelby Myers new bid.
$29 million.
$30 million, ladies and gentlemen.
$31 million.
$31,500,000.
And final time with RM Sotheby's.
The car is sold.
Wow, $31.5 million for the F1 GTR.
$31.5 million.
More or less than you were expecting.
It's a little less than I was expecting.
$7.5 million for a 300 mile F40.
I never in a million years would have guessed it would be that expensive.
The next car that we're looking forward to seeing,
well, I'm actually not looking forward to seeing it at all.
It's going to scar my eyes, is the Luce.
But I'm curious how much somebody...
I don't like it.
I'm curious how much people are willing to pay for this thing.
It is for sure.
I think it's for charity.
I can see that.
I'm going to go $9.50.
This is what happens when we've been here for four hours
trying to film both the F1 and the Luce.
She's the Luce right now.
This blue Mira is absolutely gorgeous.
It's at $2.75.
I think, yeah, me and Christine were in at $2.7,
but the extra $50 just couldn't do it.
Wow, this DB4 Zagato started straight away at $8 million.
It's climbing fast.
I took a random guess.
I had no idea.
I was guessing six and she goes 20.
But, well, actually, technically, I'm closer right now.
It just sold for $11.75 million.
Well, I recently got to drive one of these in the Malibu Canyons
for a couple hours and had no idea that they're now going for $9.7 million.
Wow, $17 million for the Grand Sport.
Here we go.
The first Ferrari Luce to go up for sale in the world.
They're expecting north of a million dollars, which is absolutely insane.
And it doesn't look any better in person than it does in the pictures and videos.
That's for sure.
They opened it at $1 million.
No way.
Oh, my God.
No, no way, bro.
$10 million for a Luce.
No, they've lost the plot.
$15 million for an electric car.
Oh, I don't even know what to say.
No way.
If this sells for more than the F1 GTR.
Michael, you are in the lead.
Try another one on the front row.
Try 31.
We're at $30 million here at Monterrey at RM Sotheby's.
$32 million.
Oh, my God.
$32 million for the Ferrari Luce.
Chassis, zero, zero, zero.
$35 million.
I think even RM Sotheby's is confused.
Yes, yes.
$40 million.
$40 million, ladies and gentlemen, for the Ferrari Foundation at $40 million.
Are you out, Rob?
41, you're out.
I think we should introduce you to the team of Ferrari.
41 million.
$40 million, make no mistake.
Here at RM Sotheby's for our great, great friends at Ferrari.
At $40 million going for the first time.
At $40 million going for the second time.
At $40 million for the Ferrari Luce going for the third and final time.
The Luce just sold for $40 million.
Are you kidding me?
We've lost the plot officially.
Well, guys, there you have it.
$40 million on an electric Ferrari.
That's one hell of a tax write-off.
We were literally guessing what?
I said $950,000.
I mean, last year, we were here for the SP3, which was also a charity auction.
Now, granted, that car is now worth about $17 million.
They spent $26 as a write-off.
That Luce as a used car is going to be worth like $500,000.
And he just spent $40 million for it.
Well, guys, there you have it.
That's the craziest thing I've ever seen.
See you next video.
