Hi Painters! Todays painting tutorial is a full length tutorial and shows how to paint blossom over the bridge in just a few easy steps. The painting tutorial video shows acrylic painting techniques, such as blending, creating depth and distance in a painting and colour mixing. This is an easy acrylic painting for beginners to try and the tutorial has a step by step guide to follow.
If you would like to learn how to paint from home, this is a great place to start. I used only a few colours, so it's a great acrylic painting for beginners to try. This video shows how to paint an easy acrylic painting for beginners and acrylic painting techniques for beginners.
This beginner-friendly painting tutorial guides viewers through creating a blossom tree landscape over a bridge. Using an 8x10 canvas and a specific palette of whites, greys, blues, yellows, and magentas, the instructor demonstrates a step-by-step process of layering colors, from the distant background to the detailed foreground blossoms and bridge structures.

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me today. We're going to be painting this really
pretty blossom over the bridge landscape. It's an easy painting for beginners to
try. I'll show you the brushes and colours that I use
and we'll go through each section step by step so you can paint along with me.
Today I'm using an 8 by 10 inch canvas and the colours that I'm using today
are titanium white, some Payne's grey, some ultramarine, some cadmium yellow
light and some quinacridone magenta but you can use any blue and yellow that
you like that you think will make a nice green.
If you don't have Payne's grey you can use black
and if you don't have the quinacridone magenta
you could use any other magenta or pink, whatever colour that you think will look
nice for the blossoms. I've got just a medium flat brush and
it's slightly damp. The first thing I'm going to do
is make a really nice grey colour. So I've got my
Payne's grey, a little white, I'm going to add some ultramarine
just to make it a little more blue.
A little darker, make it lighter as we come up to the top
part of the canvas. So probably just below the halfway mark
we'll start about there, sweep it up. I'm going to make it, like I said, a little
bit darker along the bottom. It doesn't matter if it goes further
down, we'll cover all this bit later. So I'm just going to dampen my brush
again, just streaks if I just want to work
those out a little bit.
Brush up, brush in and rinse.
The next thing I'm going to do is come in with a firm bristle brush.
You can either have sort of a filbert style brush like this
or this one. The other brush I'll probably use
is the softer filbert brush because I want to put in some willow trees in the
distance as well. But we'll start off with maybe this round
one. I'm going to add a little bit of pink into the grey.
Start giving the indication of a few little
trees and bushes in the distance. It's got pink on the very end of the
brush and I'm really just dabbing it on the shape of a shrub or
tree or something like that.
This as well and then I'm going to just say
dampen my brush. I'm going to make a really nice
grey-green colour. So I'll pick up a little bit of that grey again.
I've got my ultramarine, cadmium yellow white,
grey. I'll just use the curve of that brush
on the side of the brush, just along the side.
You can take your time and play around with the shape
to get it right the first time.
So
I'll just
I think I'll just come back as well and add a little more detail later.
The next section is to mark out roughly where the branches are going to be, so
now we can actually just mix a lot of this together
because we want quite a dark colour to begin with, a dark purple colour, so we've got little pins,
a little green, some magenta,
then I've got my flat brush again, I've got some of this dark colour,
and again we just below the halfway mark, we'll cover some of these, that's absolutely fine,
maybe just a bit here in the middle, straight across, sweep it down, just straight
out,
do the same to this side, start just going from side to side,
again it can all be tidied up later, so don't worry, just putting that in,
so
you can try and, as you're going, make a little bit like wooden boards that are
across the bridge, but don't worry if you can't, I'll come back and brush in a little more detail
later on, it's just to give us a little bit of idea.
Then we'll put a few shrubs a little bit closer to us,
a little dry the pin under the light, so I've just added a little water to it,
and if you need to, she's on the side,
stop
it,
let's do this side,
the darker colour here, and the shadow of the side, I'm going to give it another quarter here as well,
I'm going to use my medium round brush, this one is a size 8, any medium round brush will do,
and I'm going to start just putting, I've chopped up my
colour,
some of it to the side,
okay, so let's drop back here,
another one,
start,
so down, when you disappear the edge,
do come in with a smaller round brush if you need to, don't really have to stick to it,
three times, get just a little bigger,
so I'm making the space between just a little bit further away,
space again, we'll make it a little bit further away again,
still a little way underneath, could always let it dry, probably what I'll do is I'll
try and come back here,
I'm going to blossom tree the side,
do,
leave it like that for now, we'll do the smaller branches
with a smaller brush, while all of this is drying we'll start working on the blossom,
I'm going to do is a small foam bristle brush, anything like that that you have,
do a little white to begin with and just a little bit of blue,
because we'll start with our darkest red colour, I think I'm going to make this a
slight little pom-pom,
colours don't have to come together exactly, you can
lots of different colours together on the canvas, I'll just blend a little bit,
okay,
take some green,
a little green,
okay,
it's time to just the pink,
a slight little bit of ginger colour, just dabbing that on, just to start building up the blossom,
it's bright pink here,
do,
oh my gosh,
just putting those highlights right on the top, I'm trying to keep them all
sort of roughly on the same side, on the right hand side, so it looks like the lightest colour
brush really does all of the work for you, and if there's a part you don't like you can always
come back over with a different colour and cover it up once it's dry,
just a little bit of fun, it does take a little bit of time,
this part is mostly dry so we'll let that dry before we come back and do some more work on that,
start building up the bridge and the bushes on the side,
but I'm going to come in with a smaller brush, just dampen it a little,
start putting in
detail,
start putting in the side parts,
just going to go like that,
you can make these a little bit more thinner there, and make them gradually
wider and wider, and also just fill up the white,
picked up a little bit of pink there in that white,
looks quite nice, so I'll leave that, I'm also going to do some petals on the ground
as well, so that will look really nice with the pink,
I'm just doing with the white, this is dry now, I'll let that dry and start adding
branches on the tree, this is where you need to be careful you don't put your hand on the board,
you're not working on it easily, it does a little more difficult in that respect,
the paint a little bit thinner, if you have a brush that would also work really well,
top,
lean, brush again, come back in with this little
ground,
if you use the side of the brush it gets smaller,
we seem to accumulate in the corners, just stop the edges,
some white,
I think now that the brush is dry at the top, I'm going to come in with just white,
here and there,
so
