‘Barrier lake’ triggers fresh floods, halts rescue at Nepal-China border

Authorities in Nepal and China have confirmed that a reservoir formed by recent massive flooding has burst its banks, triggering additional flooding downstream. Due to the dangerous torrents, rescue and relief operations have been suspended, and residents near riverbanks have been warned to evacuate immediately for their safety.
