Austin weather: Scattered storms, but still hot

Severe thunderstorms are currently impacting southern regions, including Bastrop, Caldwell, Hayes, and Travis counties, bringing lightning, 60 mph wind gusts, and penny-sized hail. While the area is experiencing a significant temperature drop compared to yesterday, isolated rain chances persist through Friday morning before high pressure returns to dry out the region.
