President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to immediately rename Lake Ontario as Lake America. The U.S. Department of the Interior will update the Geographic Names Information System to reflect the new name. Trump is also signaling U.S. punishment against Chinese banks for helping Iran.
The chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party is calling out U.S. banks for bankrolling the IPO of a company accused of using forced labor in China.
Over 350 people have been confirmed dead in the Nepal-Tibet floods, and more than 1,000 people, including foreigners from 32 countries, remain missing, China and Nepal said on Thursday. Among those missing are 65 Americans. This comes after a wall of water and mud several stories high tore through the border region, sweeping away homes, roads, and bridges.
