1 Video View·Aug 25, 2026 #sailing #OXLEY #BORA After flying our parasailor for two years, I noticed that the snuffer line was getting shorter each time we used it. As you can imagine, this was concerning and even worse if we didn't address the issue head on. Check out our video to see what we did and if it solved the problem!

NEW TO OUR CHANNEL?
We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia.
So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too!
As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures!

Hey there everyone. Thanks so much for watching. A huge shout out to our patrons. Thank you so much
for your support for our videos and what we're doing here and a huge thank you as well to you
as viewers. Our two most popular videos have been our parasail videos and we wanted to do a follow
up video because we have noticed something that could have been a big issue if we didn't address
it. So we want to address it and share what we learned with you guys so that you don't run into
a major issue that could occur if you don't handle this correctly and in a timely manner. So
what we noticed over time was that the snuffer line on our parasail was getting shorter and
shorter. When we first started using our parasailer we could easily tie the snuffer
line to the trampoline. Okay really important to tie this down so that you don't lose it.
And over time the line was getting shorter and eventually it wouldn't reach the trampoline or
the bow cleat so we had to tie it to the roof handle instead and I became concerned that with
the shortening of that line something was wrong. So I threw it out into the Oxley group and a lot of
other Oxley users said that they had the same problem and at one point when they tried to snuff
their parasailer it wouldn't come down because there was a twist. Either the sail had twisted
or the snuffer line had twisted around the sail. They weren't sure but they had some issues with
tears and some damage to their sail. So we wanted to address that immediately. Friends of ours on
Valentin thanks Juergen and Heidi for the idea. They just pulled the sock back and they were able
to straighten out the sail so we wanted to share that process now. This is really important if you
notice that your snuffer is getting shorter and shorter. Don't let it go. It doesn't take long
to straighten it out. All right we've laid out the parasailer and now we've got to pull the sock
all the way from the back all the way up to the head of the sail and see where the twist is
happening so that we can get this snuff line. This is our snuff line and it's gotten way too
short so we've got to do that. That reminds me of a song. Let's go to the twist now let's go to the
twist. Where's it at? So we've successfully pulled the sock up all the way to the head of the sail
and now we're going to untwist the sail because I'm sure there are a lot of twists in the sail
and we found some twists in the snuffer line and Brown's laying that out now and hopefully this
will solve our problem of a too short snuffer line or the snuffer line that's getting shorter.
We found the issue. Yeah. All right here we go. One, two, three, go. Shake it as you go.
All right so now we need the bag and we need to start to flake it. All right. The sail has been
repacked. We think we solved the issue. Brown is now adding chapstick to the zippers. To his lips.
To his luscious voluptuous lips. If you add chapstick it keeps the zipper from sticking.
Nice cheap way. Preventive
measures. Thanks you guys so much for watching. I hope this video is helpful to you.
We would really appreciate it if you would subscribe and hit the like button. Don't
hesitate to share this with your friends as well. Thank you so much and we'll see you next week.
