F.D.A. approves new pancreatic cancer drug

The FDA has approved a new targeted drug from Revolution Medicines for metastatic pancreatic cancer. By targeting the RAS gene mutation that fuels tumor growth, the drug has nearly doubled survival rates compared to chemotherapy alone in late-stage studies and is generally better tolerated by patients, offering a significant new tool in treating one of the deadliest forms of cancer.
