Tropics forecast: Invest 96L could become tropical depression or storm

A tropical wave in the east Atlantic is showing signs of development, with a 70% chance of becoming a tropical depression or storm. While it may bring beneficial rain to drought-stricken areas like the Lesser Antilles and Puerto Rico, strong El Niño-related wind shear is expected to weaken the system before it reaches the islands.
