Nepal-China Border in Ruins! Mudslide Sweeps Away Villages, Bridges Collapse, People Trapped

Nepal is facing a major flash flood disaster in Rasuwa district near the China border, with at least eight people reportedly confirmed dead and several others feared missing.

Powerful floodwaters have caused extensive damage across affected areas, with villages, roads and bridges impacted by the sudden surge. The Bhotekoshi River rose rapidly, while areas including Timure and Syapru Besi have reported major disruption.

Hydropower infrastructure has also been affected, with reports indicating around 430 MW of electricity capacity impacted. Rescue operations are continuing as Nepal Army and police teams work in challenging weather and difficult terrain.

Authorities are closely monitoring downstream rivers, including the Trishuli and Narayani, while residents in vulnerable areas have been urged to move to safer locations.
