Wedding Anniversary: Haakon and Mette-Marit Share Romantic Memories

Even their 20th wedding anniversary took place under extraordinary circumstances. Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mettamaret celebrated in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic with only their closest family and friends. The Norwegian Royal House has now released these recordings from that time to mark the couple's silver wedding anniversary. To celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, the royals are reminiscing and sharing their memories with the public. Several photos from their honeymoon have also been released. Haakon and Mettamaret tied the knot on August 25, 2001. There was no big celebration for the silver wedding anniversary. Mettamaret is currently still recovering from a lung transplant. According to the royal court, the couple is looking forward to celebrating at a later date. The wedding anniversary was also overshadowed by King Harald's illness. He is currently hospitalized at Rikshospitalet in Oslo.
