Canadian counter-tariffs target appliances, fish, cosmetics

Canada is retaliating against U.S. tariffs by imposing matching counter-tariffs on $27.6 billion of American imports starting September 8th. Targeting over 700 products, including steel and aluminum, the move aims to apply political pressure on U.S. swing states. The Canadian government is also providing $7.5 billion in support to help domestic businesses and workers weather the trade conflict.
