Iran Says No Concessions As Pezeshkian Urges End To ‘No War, No Peace’ Situation

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran will not make concessions and wants to move beyond what he describes as a “no war, no peace” situation. He said Iranian officials are discussing almost daily how to reach an understanding that preserves Iran’s principles and values while deterring adversaries from considering another attack. Pezeshkian also said war offers no solution, while uncertainty over renewed conflict is hurting Iran economically.

Pezeshkian warned that continued fears of renewed fighting could make it difficult to attract investment. He defended the recent memorandum with the U.S., saying it contains no provision amounting to capitulation or requiring concessions from Tehran. The memorandum was reached through Pakistani and Qatari mediation in June after hostilities ended, with both sides pursuing negotiations towards a final agreement. However, talks have since stalled over implementation and navigation arrangements through the Strait of Hormuz.
