What's it like living in a potential cancer cluster?

There are more than 12,000 contaminated sites across New Jersey known to the NJDEP, making the Garden State home to one of the nation's largest legacies of industrial pollution.
One of those sites is in Keyport, N.J., where Sal Liguori lives.
Sal made it his mission to protect his neighbors. Residents living near the former Aeromarine property have worried about pollution at the landfill for decades. And now they wonder if it could be connected to an unusually high number of cancer cases in Keyport and neighboring Union Beach.
For Sal, the concern is deeply personal. His son died from cancer, and Sal was recently diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He has said that multiple members of his family who lived near the site also became ill, fueling his determination to seek answers for the community.
