Before the bowl cut, the scooter, the MTV Cribs parody, and the Atlantic Records deal, Oliver Tree Nickell was a boy in Santa Cruz, California, raised by circus-performing parents who lived on the road, attending Burning Man at ten years old, and writing his first album at six.
