More than 1,170 pounds of khat seized at O’Hare, 3 travelers charged

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at O'Hare International Airport seized over 1,170 pounds of khat, an illegal stimulant, from three U.S. citizens returning from Senegal. The seized substance has an estimated street value of $140,000. The suspects were arrested and charged with the manufacture and trafficking of a controlled substance.
