Enjoy the Art of Cozy Living | Preparing for Autumn in the Countryside | Cottagecore Habits

Preparing for autumn in the countryside through slow living, cozy homemaking, cottagecore routines, seasonal cooking, preserving the late-summer harvest, gardening, baking from scratch, handmade crafts, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. Spend a peaceful late August day creating a warm home for the season ahead through simple countryside living and meaningful daily rituals.
As summer slowly begins to give way to autumn, I spend these peaceful days preparing both my home and my garden for the changing season. Before the rain arrives, I gather dried flowers from the garden, arrange handmade bouquets, preserve cucumbers for winter, make homemade cornelian cherry compote, bake a cozy pear pie, decorate fabric lavender sachets with textile paints, and fill them with dried lavender harvested from the garden.
Along the way I share a few simple autumn shopping finds, decorate my home with seasonal touches, and enjoy the quiet rhythm that always arrives with the final weeks of summer.
For me, preparing for autumn is much more than simply changing the decorations around the house. It is about slowing down, preserving the harvest, filling the home with comforting scents, enjoying homemade food, noticing the changing garden, and making space for another beautiful season one simple moment at a time.
