Historically, the traditional Korean folk song "Arirang" is deeply rooted in the concept of Han (sorrow)—a song of heartbreak sung as a lover crosses the Arirang Pass. However, this beautiful Chinese adaptation with lyrics by Fang Bian (方忭) breathes an entirely new, optimistic life into the melody. It sings of eternal companionship, promising that "the green mountains and green waters will always be with you, and we shall never be apart."

This retro-cinematic AI Music Video transports us back to the classic Asian cinema aesthetic of the 1960s. The story follows two lovers who face a temporary parting at the Arirang Pass. Instead of succumbing to the traditional sorrow, they hold onto an unwavering vow, proving that though parted, their souls remain intertwined.

For this musical reimagining, we crafted an epic cinematic orchestral arrangement and beautifully layered it with the soulful resonance of traditional Korean instruments, most notably the Gayageum. The delicate, historic plucking of the Gayageum preserves the deep longing of the original folk song, while the sweeping orchestral swells elevate the hopeful, unbroken promise embedded in the Chinese lyrics.
