Synthesia built something that is not a video tool. You get on an actual call with an AI, out loud, and it plays a person who pushes back on you.

I ran the discovery call against David, a skeptical VP of IT. He was guarded, he made me work for every answer, and he ended the call without agreeing to a next step.

I scored 47. The pass mark is 60.

The part that surprised me is what happens after. There is a coach you talk to about the call, out loud, the same way you just talked to the prospect. I told it what I found hard and it asked me what I would do differently. The one thing it said would have changed the call was setting an agenda up front before diving into questions. I had not done that, and I am still thinking about it.

There are four scenarios: manager feedback, discovery call, cold call and retail sales. Three of the four are sales, so this is built for sales teams. It works for a solo operator too, because when you work alone you are the sales team.

One honest limitation. The scenario does not tell you what you are selling, so I had to bring my own, and that made the first few questions harder than they needed to be. If you want a scenario built around your own business, you arrange that with their team.

You might know Synthesia as the tool where you type a script, pick an avatar and get a talking head. They say over 90% of the Fortune 100 use them for that. This is a different product.
