Esteban Rodriguez Aims for Ironweight Title on September 11

And you've been rolling along, my man. You've been on a roll right now. How you been? How you feeling right now? And you've got another dance on September the 11th. Oh man, I am feeling phenomenal words. Don't begin to explain the emotions going through my veins right now, man. The hard work, all the dream chasing, all the doubters, man. Like this is what it's about. This is what the fight game is about right here, man. I've been pushing the limits. I've been breaking uncomfortable bounds. And I've been finding new levels, man, in the human body. And I've been able to really pull out something new. And you guys are going to see a whole new monster on September 11th, man. I'm going to be able to show you guys why I am the next million dollar fighter. Now, you got it done in the cruiserweight division. This is an ironweight fight, right? So new division, Lorenzo Hunt and Pugliese. That was a war, bro. I already saw that fight. So are you ready for this now? Because you've done, you know, you've got this. You've done it. You've beaten people. You want to fight the best. You're the best. Is Lorenzo Hunt, is the ironweight, is this the next thing that you have on the target list right now, becoming the ironweight champion? Yeah, actually, when I fought in Miami, I seen Lorenzo Hunt for the first time. I told him in the back, I'm like, yo, one day I'm going to take that stripe off your chest. You can either hand it down to me or I'm going to have to take it off your chest by hand, man. You told me, hey, you take out the bottom, I'll take out the top and maybe one day we'll meet. Well, guess what, baby? I'm here, son, I'm here in police town. I'm coming to clean out the ironweight division the same way I clean out the cruiserweight division. And it's only going to be beautiful violence straight from here. That's why I asked. So it's funny that you've already crossed paths with him and he was cool about it, right? He said, all right, do your thing and maybe we'll cross paths because he's been on a roll right now too, right? He's just been effing people up, rolling along and I can't help but think, I was like, man. And you can't look ahead, you know, not looking ahead past anybody right now, but just sort of feels like what a super massive fight that could be. But let's talk about Townsville a little bit here, Esteban. A self-described kill or be killed fighter, which is something that, you know what? No surprises. It must be, you know, not, you know, it's not a gift, but it's like, all right, you don't have to overthink things. You know this guy's coming to stand and bang, right? There's not a lot of trickery here. He wants to come and be killed or be killed, right? Yes, sir. This is going to be a firework show. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I'm coming to lay down violence like they've never seen. I am the most entertaining fighter in the world. Nobody's been able to match my pace. Nobody's going to be able to match my pressure. I'm here to take names. I'm here to take heads and I'm here to clean out the division, baby. How many fights? So how did this Ironweight stuff come to be? Like what made you, was it the company that asked you? Did you say, you know what? I want to go, I want to try this Ironweight stuff, new division. How did you, how did this come to be, Esteban? Well, I cleaned out that Cruiserweight, man. I see no competition for me in there. I want some of the best fights so that I can produce the most entertaining fights for the people, man. Like I try to do this for the people and nobody wants those boring fights, man. And who's the best of the best right now? You got Lorenzo Hunt, three-time, three-division world champion now. That's something that I feel like I can accomplish because there's nobody that's been able to match what I've been doing. I've been cleaning them out so quick that they don't even know how to line them up, man. Lorenzo is definitely one of the big names that I'm going to be coming after next.
