Hayden Panettiere death investigation: The latest

So federal agents are now joining the investigation into the death of actress Hayden Panettere. Our Chelsea Torres is live from Charlotte with the latest. Chelsea, what are investigators saying so far? Sure, Tim. So young, the Drug Enforcement Administration says that they are now part of the investigation into the death of the 36-year-old actress. And when paramedics arrived on scene in Greenville, South Carolina in an apartment where Panettere was staying, they found her unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. A preliminary autopsy report sent to Fox News Digital shows there were no signs of trauma when she died. In a police report, Panettere's on and off again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother were at the apartment and they called 911 after finding the actress unresponsive. The report also says Hickerson gave officers a bag of medicine Panettere was using at the time. Just weeks before the actress's death, she spoke publicly about her past struggles with opioid addiction, alcoholism, and even postpartum depression, ultimately leading to her giving up custody of her daughter who she shares with former boxer, Vladimir Klitschko. Earlier this year, Panettere, known for her roles in Remember the Titans and the show Heroes, talked to Fox News Digital about her past and growing up Criticism in any form is a hard pill to swallow, and especially when you're at these very vulnerable ages where you're already struggling and picking yourself apart and going through all of these changes physically, mentally, emotionally. And Greenville police did say that they went to Hickerson's home Wednesday morning for what they call a welfare check, but no one answered the door. TMZ is also reporting that Narcan was found in that apartment where Panettere died. Guys, back to you. And Jelzy, you said Panettere and Hickerson had an on and off relationship. Can you tell us more about that? Sure. Actually, Hickerson was arrested back in 2019 and 2020 for domestic abuse, and he only spent just over two weeks in jail and was later let out on some community service and alcohol anonymous meetings. But this was something that Panettere had even mentioned in her memoir that just was published three months ago. She even quoted mentioning that she was beat so bad that she could not even leave her home for a few weeks. And of course, they were still back together, even as back as 2022. So this is something that a lot of people are still speculating. We do know that his lawyer had made a earlier. Fox is still trying to confirm exactly what was mentioned there. But as we know, at least from that preliminary autopsy report, there was still no foul play in her death. All right. Thank you, Chelsea.
