N.S. dog honoured for rescuing owner out of icy lake

Timber, a six-year-old Australian shepherd from Nova Scotia, has been inducted into the 2026 Purina Animal Hall of Fame. The brave dog saved his owner, Jenna Galloway, after they both fell through the ice of a frozen lake during a skijoring excursion. Timber's obedience and strength were instrumental in getting Jenna back to safety and eventually to her car.
