By layering various effects—including EQ, pitch shifting, modulation, delay, and reverb—the speaker builds a rich, textured sound that is finalized with compression before passing through a cabinet simulator.
So what I'm about to show you are all the elements that go into my signal chain. So all I've got
right now is Simplifier Deluxe, my noise reduction and my boost. Now I'm using the UltraWave
just as an EQ and compressor. I'm adding the C4, adding an octave down in the left ear
and the fifth above that octave down in the right ear. Ironically I'll be taking some of that out
but having it in to begin with is going to make it sound a little bit richer. I'm adding the M1
for both modulation and a little bit of a lo-fi effect. The lo-fi effect takes out a lot of the
bottom but because I added it to begin with you still get little bits of it there. We're going to
add a delay on the Nemesis. So it's a ping-pong just very soft and just to give it a little bit
of movement. Now I'm going to add Slower for some reverb and I'm going to add
bygones. Actually this is Hue but with the bygones patch on. I like stacking them because it gives
me the sense of the instrument being further away. And last I'm just going to add some compression
on top before it goes back to the cab sim. And now all together it'll sound something like this.
