Hello everyone and welcome back to my YouTube channel.
I feel like I've been a bit MIA recently but basically we went on holiday for a few days
and then as soon as I was back I obviously got a cold because I feel like you just get a cold
every time you go on holiday. Anyway, I am back. We are kind of around mid-August and I am going
to call this video transitional outfits because I feel like they work really nicely for that end
of summer season and it's still quite warm and then into September depending on where you live
in the world. So I wanted to focus all on casual outfits today. Some are slightly more dressy
casual outfits and some are very very relaxed comfy cozy outfits all with the aim of being
chic and stylish for your everyday life. So let's start with this first one and I have been so
excited to wear these trousers but I've been saving them for the video because I didn't want
anything to spoil them or ruin them or me to get a mark down them when I was wearing them and then
not be able to show them in the video. So I've been saving them but they've been on my rail
and I've been desperate to wear them. So these trousers are like a sort of, they're not denim,
I don't even know what fabric they are but they're sort of heavy cotton, almost denim-y but very very
soft and comfy and they've got the elasticated waistband. I'll link everything below because
these are newer season from ASOS and I feel like there's going to be so many ways to pair these.
They're like a really nice shade of green. I styled it with this silk cashmere polo in this beautiful
creamy shade. This is from LilySilk. It's so gorgeous, breathable, very very very soft and I like
that it's a little bit more fitted in shape which means we can then pair it with these looser
trousers. I do feel like there's been such a shift in fashion and sometimes you find that the
tops maybe that you've got don't necessarily match the styles of bottoms so I'm wearing so many looser
bottoms that actually something a little bit more fitted on top like this is what we need and I
always gravitate towards a t-shirt so I think this just is a really nice alternative that still feels
casual but it's got something a little bit more about it and then I grounded the whole look just
with some black casual accessories. Obviously we're still in that kind of crossover period of late
summer and so I wore the flip flops with it just a nice easy outfit you know 20 degrees outside
it's not hot it's not cold so I feel like this is a really nice one for that kind of temperature
which we experience so much of in the UK and then my slouchy black bag so yeah outfit number one.
Okay outfit number two, I kept this little polo shirt on because I just think it's a really
useful versatile base layer and then I've got these washable silk wool pants on and again these
are so so comfortable. These are also from LilySilk and part of this video is in sponsored
partnership with them so I'll be styling some of their pieces and then mixed in with a lot of my
own pieces as well. As you already know their focus is really on quality and the fact that
these are machine washable I think makes them such a versatile piece. I feel like this would be
a really nice working from home outfit or if you're kind of going to a coffee shop and working
from there and you just want to feel a little bit more pulled together but still casual. These pants
are perfect and we're seeing a lot more of this length at the moment so we're seeing long culottes,
we're seeing capri pants, we're seeing cropped wide trousers like these and they are really
really useful particularly at this time of year where maybe you don't want to be wearing shorts
or you want something new but you still want something that's relatively cool and breezy
and comfortable then I feel like these are such a good option. I don't know why but casual outfits
excite me way more than anything else. I don't know what it is about them, I think maybe because
of the effortlessness of casual outfits and also the fact that they are actually wearable in our
day-to-day lives has something to do with it maybe. So this is my next outfit, two pieces, actually these
are older pieces from my wardrobe so both, I don't know when I got these, maybe last year or the year
before and then I got this last year as well from Massimo Duty, it's like a funnel neck sort of
windbreakery jacket which obviously there are a lot around at the moment so hopefully I'll be able
to find an alternative but these jackets are so so useful and I'm so glad they've become in fashion
because they're such a handy little thing to have in your wardrobe. I think Massimo still do some
like this and then I've got some barrel cotton trousers on, just really really comfortable again
I think I got these from Abercrombie and then I've paired it with some black ballet flats to do a bit
of the colour sandwich with black on the top, black on the bottom, lighter in the middle and then as
you can see a bit of a theme through the video I'm adding a few pops of red in with this Massimo
bag, I think it just brings something to more neutral minimal outfits which as you know is what
I'm all about and I like the kind of block colours of the red with the black with the white, I think
it works really nicely so red definitely an easy one to interject and make your outfits more
interesting. I wish I'd put this on last because I could stay in this all day long, it is so
comfortable, so soft but also feels so premium because it's thick so it's this matching lily
silk set so these are their seam flow stride sweatpants, that is a tongue twister to say,
but they're so comfortable so we've got the elasticated waist, they're this sort of elongated
straight fit which I just feel like really chic and elevated, I would wear this day to day to
be honest, I would wear this all day every day if I could but I do think it'd be a nice one
you know if you kind of go to the gym and get changed, have a shower there and want something
really cosy to put on afterwards or beforehand, the same if you're going for like a nice chic
spa weekend or a staycation and you just want some really comfy but kind of luxurious elevated
loungewear to put on and I think this is just what you need. So the top zips all the way down
so you could wear it open with a tank top if it was a little bit warmer or you could zip it all
the way to the top and wear it like a funnel neck which I think is really chic, the shape just works
really nicely, I got a size small in this by the way just for reference and I think it's available
in other colours too, I'm pretty sure they've got a really nice brown shade but I just love this
really pale grey, I think it's so chic. Just when you think it couldn't get any better they actually
brought out the top in a short sleeve version which I love, it's got this kind of quarter zip,
so chic and I think it's always useful to have something like this in your wardrobe that feels
a little bit more, I don't want to say special because it's very wearable and comfortable but
it just feels a little bit more pulled together than some sweat sets so you can wear it out and
about and it looks really really chic and trendy, if you buy this you'll know what I mean when I say
it is so just, I just can't stop touching it, it feels so so nice to wear and I just couldn't
recommend this enough, it just fits so well, it's such a good piece. Okay moving on to a jeans look
and I have missed my jeans so much, I feel like I've taken a bit of a hiatus from the jeans because
it has been so hot in England so I've not really needed my jeans which is quite a nice break but
I'm kind of missing them. These are my barrel jeans, I obviously love the barrel shape and
I do feel like it's a really easy shape for transitional season because you can wear them
with a lot of different footwear so things like ballet flats, sandals look really great with them,
they still feel a little bit breezy and not too heavy which like a long wide leg sometimes feels
a little bit too much whereas these are usually a little bit kind of cropped and loose so they
work nicely for in between seasons or going into new seasons. I've then styled it with some
brown suede so I do feel like this look is a little bit more pulled together and a little
bit more chic but still very casual with the fabric and the way I've styled it and the colour
palette. I've then got this machine washable lily silk shirt on so it retains the same quality even
when you put it in the washing machine which is just insane. I think that's one of the biggest
bugbears for me is taking things to the dry cleaners so knowing this is machine washable
is really handy. It's also convertible so if you have a look online and are interested in this
shirt you can see there's multiple ways to wear this. You can wear it kind of asymmetrically,
it comes with some ties so you can cinch it in at the waist. I just decided to wear it tucked
into the jeans because I think it worked really nicely this way and it feels very classic but you
can kind of twist it to look a little bit more fashion forward with the asymmetric tie and then
I've got this navy lily silk knit over the shoulders. I love a navy knit and this is something
that if you invest in this you will literally be able to wear it for the rest of your life.
A good navy knit is something that never ever ever goes out of style and I think navy for this
time of year works really nicely and is a great alternative to black too. I think this look is one
of my favourites so far. I've got these silk crepe trousers on from LilySilk. I think these are so
good. They're again like a loose straight, a bit like the jogging pant style. So they're not like
a wide leg, a really nice weight as well, not too heavy. They feel kind of like a casual pant
but you could dress them up. I've dressed them down a bit here. This is what I would say is like
a chic, smart but casual look. I popped the navy jumper on again just to show another way you could
wear this. Throw it round your waist if it's warm and then into the evening you can pop it on as
your jumper. I'll just put it on in a minute so I can show you what it looks like. I've then added
in some black accessories because I really like navy and black together. I've mentioned this before
and I think some people just don't think to wear navy and black together but I actually think it's
a really modern looking pairing and also modernises your navy as well. So I think a lot of the times
people put navy with something like tan which looks beautiful but can look a little bit more
traditional maybe. But to modernise your navy, pair it with black. And then I've just gone for this
silk breeze jersey tank. This fits like a glove. It's got a little bit of stretch to it. It's very
very breathable. I love this slightly off white shade. The neckline is really nice. I feel like it
just fits well on the neck. I like the thickness of the straps. It's a really easy versatile piece.
You could use this as layering but also just wear it by itself like this. And then I'll just put the
jumper on so I can show you. So I would just probably wear it kind of loose but you could also tuck it in
like that but I think just kind of slouched over looks so good. The shape, the neckline, obviously
I've discussed the merits of a good navy jumper but how good does this look with the white trousers?
So my next outfit, long linen skirt, long sleeved loose t-shirt. I just love this look. It is sometimes
just those basic basic looks that are just the best. I think it's because you're using all these more
classic very simple pieces. I think a lot of people will have something similar within their wardrobe
and you could swap out a black skirt for anything and the long sleeved t-shirt just looks so good.
So really easy to do. I've just got some mesh shoes with this from Amazon. I love these so much
and they're also really comfortable. I have them in the red as well but they just give a sort of
trend modern twist on two very classic wardrobe basics. So you can easily do that within your
wardrobe depending on your style. You can keep it more traditional if you wanted to but then you
could also just add in a funky shoe or just a sandal if it's warmer or a trainer if it's a bit
cooler and then you can kind of change up your bag as well whether you wanted a cross body or a
smaller bag or a bigger tote like this. With all of these formulas today I think you can rework them
in different ways and probably adapt everything to things you have in your wardrobe too. So yeah
just a really big fan of this very very simple look. Okay just a couple more outfits to show you.
I did want to do some shorts but how do you make shorts a little bit more transitional and
this is definitely a formula I go to quite a lot. The English weather sort of lends itself to this
because it can be kind of breezy but cool and then all of a sudden come a little bit warmer.
So this is a really good formula something very lightweight like a long lightweight trench
with some shorts and then just a plain t-shirt. You can go ballet flats, you could go sandals,
you could go trainers and then I've got my big slouchy bag with this so perfect for when it's
maybe a little bit cooler in the mornings and then comes warmer in the afternoons. This lightweight
trench you could just fold up and put in your tote or just keep it on because it is quite
lightweight so I think this is a really nice easy transitional look. My shorts are under the stories.
I feel like these shorts are really controversial which just blows my mind because they're just a
relatively plain denim short but when I've worn them before people don't love them. I really like
them they're also really soft and comfortable. I love the longer looser shape I think they're
really cool but also quite classic and then my trench is old unfortunately and then just my suede
accessories that I had on before and just keep it interesting with your accessories. Some cool
sunglasses, a big slouchy tote and you don't need anything too fussy and complicated but just one or
two pieces that add a bit of cool to your outfit. So I've come full circle back to the trousers I
was wearing at the start of the video. These are the ASOS ones. I've got it with these brown
accessories. My shoes are from Next and then this chunky brown puff from Massimo Duty and then
I'm wearing it with my Grace top. This is actually from my collection with Lily Silk that I brought
out I think it was last year. It seems like such a long time ago but I know a lot of you have got
the Grace top which is such a beautiful piece. Got the padded shoulders, the pleating detail with the
high net. It's a very me style of top and it's very very wearable as well. We have it in multiple
different colours but this one is the lily white and I just wanted to show for anybody who has
bought it that you don't necessarily have to wear it as like an evening top all the time. I think it
looks really chic paired down with something a lot more casual so you could go for jeans and jeans
would work really really nicely but I think this sort of almost cargo-y style of trouser just
lends itself well to the silky fabric. I don't know, there's something about it I think complements
each other really nicely and for me that's the beauty of fashion is that you can play around
with unexpected pieces. It's a bit of that fusion styling method that I developed where you sort of
take one piece that seemingly doesn't go with another and put them together and it makes a
really cool look. So just think outside the box when styling your pieces especially
things like silky fabrics and how you can play around with that more in the daytime and make
that feel more relaxed. So I really hope you've enjoyed the video, got some styling inspiration.
I feel like this has given me a bit of inspiration as well. Sometimes you get stuck in a bit of a
style rut especially towards the end of a season and thinking about new season and you get a little
bit stuck so I feel like this has kind of given me a bit of a refresh and just also shown me that
you don't need to over-complicate things when you've got really good pieces, it's all about
how you pair them together. So don't forget to hit subscribe before you leave the video,
thank you so much for watching, thank you to LilySilk for sponsoring part of this video
and I will see you in my next one, bye!
