Welcome in to like it or not on this Wednesday night and look at this panel. I mean how lucky
am I ladies. Nowhere else I'd rather be. Some familiar faces. Sky Lambert. Good to see you
friend. Good to see you. Kenneth Moten. Hi. Anthony Virgil, host, actor. We don't know you. This is
the first time on the show. Welcome. Thank you so much for having me. It's been a pleasure and
an honor definitely. Tell me a little bit about yourself. Like you know what do you do? Yeah
I call it the mentality on PGC TV. Nice. You've had my colleague Miss Khadija on a few times. Nice.
I'm also an actor on the show Welcome to Chocolate City that's based out of DC as well where I play
a character named Vito. So you'll have to check out the second season for that. You know did you
want to be an actor from an early age? I always have been in the arts. I've had a few different
things I've dabbled in from acting to hosting to music. So kind of put myself in a little bit of
different realms of art. So okay yeah. You're an artist. We are not. You're here on the show. I'm like
I was like let me let him introduce himself before I really get going. Sharon look at this panel here.
I was like no look this is your college dreams.
He said Chocolate City. They said welcome to Chocolate. I'm like I'm gonna be so mad.
So he's like so how was work tonight? We need to get to the first topic. Let's fire it up.
Oh boy I'm gonna try to keep it together. Over the years the army has used various
enlistment bonuses but the incentive for one battalion is playing out on the excitement for
Grand Theft Auto 6. A memo shared online allegedly from Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Hodgson says
soldiers who re-enlist between early August and November 14th could get a four-day pass
from November 20th through the 23rd. The game is currently scheduled for November 19th release.
According to CBS News about 130 soldiers are currently eligible for this incentive.
20 of them have already taken it. So Anthony we'll start with you on this one. Is this worth
it? This incentive that they're trying to give to soldiers that come on. Is it worth enlisting?
I'm not sure but I will say that the game itself I'm all for it. I'm a big gamer. Been waiting for
the game for a long time. It seems like it's been over a decade or has been over a decade for the
game to come out. So I'm all for having some time off or some PTO to play a nice little video game
and get a little rest but I don't know if it's worth the enlisting. Right I mean you hope that
you you hope that that's not what's bringing you there is like you know to be able to play a video
game but I mean I find this kind of genius like why not in a time where it's hard to recruit
to give some incentives so many other companies do kind of. Yeah well speaking of I mean give
them everything not to get political everything is political but like people don't want to be
in the military um just because of especially the way the political atmosphere is right now
uh the forces are being depleted and literally people are getting kicked out from being themselves
a diverse group of people LGBTQ people who want to be in the military forces but they have a
defense secretary who is essentially not making them feel welcome. Sure. Again I know everything
everything is political but I'm just stating facts here and so when you have someone saying okay
let me offer you this this and this throw the kitchen sink if you want to build up your armed
forces because the way the atmosphere and the environment is right now I know a lot of people
don't want to be there. I mean this is such a huge sacrifice that like four days of PTO to play a
video game for me it seems trivial. I love this I think it's right up the alley of where we all
should possibly be right now and that is I know that I'm a big Madden fan. Did it come out yet?
That shows you how much of a fan I am that I don't even know if it came out yet but I will say this and
that's when I get a chance to sit down and really get into it and play it oh my god I feel like I
could line up with the commanders yeah I'm gonna be the starting I'll be the third wide receiver
right behind Stephon Diggs baby I'm all in and so I think it really encourages them to yet again
understand the playing field what it is and and what it is to be in that environment and that is
you know what they were trained to do whereas perhaps they didn't have that opportunity up
and to that point yeah and listen when you're trying to recruit you're trying to recruit the
young audience and you're gonna speak their language and for that yeah you know in such an
industry that's hard for recruitment this might be the incentive that might just maybe but hopefully
to Anthony's point that's not the reason why they're actually doing this being in the military
is not a game no no for sure all right four teenagers are learning the hard way that a hike
can come with a price tag especially when you are not prepared these four 18 year olds from New
Jersey started this hike along New Hampshire's Franconia Ridge around 3 30 in the afternoon
the hike can take seven to nine hours but about five and a half hours in one hiker was having
sore legs trouble breathing the group got stranded rescuers found them on Mount Lincoln after 10 30
that night officials say the teens didn't have headlamps they weren't dressed for the conditions
rescuers had to provide food water warmer clothes before escorting them back to the trailhead
now New Hampshire Fish and Game says the four will have to pay for this rescue so Kenneth
is this fair all right do I get a refund on my tax dollars I mean that's what my money is paying
for for me to do stupid stuff really like okay I pay you all this money in tax I understand like it
puts first responders in jeopardy and other things like that but like first responders are saving
stupid people all the time and like they did something maybe they weren't supposed to do they
went out tried to have fun they thought it'd be good good exercise and they got they you know
they bit off more than they could chew yeah uh should they be forced to pay for that when
they're technically kind of the victims right no yeah and also it can be a dangerous precedent
right because what if someone feels like oh my god I'm gonna have to pay for my own rescue and
they don't call 9-1-1 right so I don't know in this sense it's a rescue you got to go get these
as stupid as they were to not prepare and where were their parents and all of this but you got
to get them and I don't think they should be charged oh you got to get them but I guess I'm
the the lone guy on the island here yeah I'm calling foul on the play yeah uh excuse me so
okay you're going out Saturday night right you're gonna go out and have dinner and a movie and so
you have a budget for Taco Bell that you show up at uh let's say Olive Garden uh you get you show
you know you your budget right you know you're not gonna hike without having the proper stuff
and you still do it and then you go to the movie and you don't have money for the movie where you
could have just gone home and Netflix and chill it's all you it's your fault and so as a result
yeah I'm an adult I should know what I need and not need you've been warned just like when you
were a kid and so I think you should pay the price that's not risking your life though
unless you're eating Taco Bell and then it's questionable yeah and you got to remember
Anthony these are 18 year olds they're not like 14 or you know younger so they're adults yeah
absolutely I do believe that it's quite asinine to make them pay an extreme amount of money to
pay for their own rescue but to your point you definitely should be prepared for anything in
life that you do of course if you have you know taxes a job an interview you're gonna
make sure your tie is tied you're gonna make sure everything is copacetic before you
go into doing something so going on a hike being unprepared no lights no nothing and those guys
I went on a trip one time and there was a fire on the island and we had to evacuate and we got
out of there my sister goes uh she goes where my money's set up right now I would have had to just
stay on the island when you said that Anthony reminded me like when you go someplace you
better have the money to get out of there otherwise you're stuck all right many people
use LinkedIn either to make a connection look for a job but what about using it for dating
about one in four professionals believe using LinkedIn as a dating tool can be acceptable a
survey also shows 22 have either reached out or responded to someone on LinkedIn with romantic
intent the platform's guidelines strictly forbid any kind of romantic advances it makes sense
LinkedIn is a public facing platform with clear headshots plenty of information about a person's
path in life everything dating apps today seem to lack so guy do you actually like this or not
you know I found out the hard way that well let me say this I didn't know that if you looked at
someone's profile that they knew that you looked at it until someone looked at mine I was like oh
wow yeah about the 15 uh women that I looked at now I'm in a world of trouble so yeah I get it I
also think at the same time it also allows you to see the path that that person is already gone and
if you're looking to seriously date then you want to know as to whether or not they're responsible
what do you do for a living and and that doesn't dictate as to who they necessarily are overall as
a person but you kind of get a sense as to what direction they're moving maybe not all of them
got to see you that because you have to pay for the premium membership or something is that what
it is I don't know how about you had an encounter like this on LinkedIn no not me I think that this
is weird like I feel like you know you're at the gym you're doing your workout and stuff like that
and somebody comes up to talk to you I feel like this has the same kind of kind of vibe that's not
why I'm here I'm here to get a job if you're messaging me and it's not about a job now now
I'm irritated I don't like this keep it on a dating app but I do like kind of like that background
check where you kind of already see someone you like oh I might be interested and I feel like
then you find a different avenue but don't hit me up on LinkedIn to try to date me wait wait wait
Deja before you go did you set this panel up today okay it was totally an accident
you don't look at our linking accounts we appreciate you looking out for the brothers
getting us some air time we thank you you know at a gym I don't know as a woman as much as I
hate it you kind of expect sometimes you're going to get hit on you're going to get looked at right
but on LinkedIn it's just weird because if someone of some company CEO hits you up maybe a company
you want to work for right and they're like hey beautiful or something like that now you're like
I'm going there because that HR situation can help me out for my payout I was hit on
like you already know like the boss is probably a sleazeball you're like oh I'm definitely gonna
work for you that's gonna be a good payday no for sure I mean you can tell I'm a millennial
because I actually met my wife on a dating app so I'm all for you know using social media to
find your partner I think this LinkedIn is especially it gives you an idea of who the
person is right it has a baseline a little bit of a resume that's trying to show you what their
structure in life is and what maybe what they value and some of them the morality so for me
I like it you know if you shoot your shot you know you miss 100% of the shots you don't take
right you know back in my day I I used to use LinkedIn as another level of check right so like
if I got hit on on hinge or whatever I would go look to see if they had a LinkedIn page because
yeah you get your education you get like your your job scope you see who they're connected with
but I don't know I think I would then go back to hinge to message the person you know
yeah people are just too thirsty right now and no platform is safe none right I mean I guess to your
point shoot your shot though because LinkedIn at least you know their resume all right that brings
question uh finding love on LinkedIn 88% of you say not let's see if this changes though I don't
know have an open mind for you singles out there there's a qr code at the top of your screen we'll
have more after a quick break hey baby I like her credentials we went to the same fight
all right fall maybe peak wedding season cooler weather colorful leaves great photo
ops but college football fans have a message for anyone planning their nuptials during that time
pick a different season they say some fans are drawing a hard line saying their fall
Saturdays are sacred one man recalls being dragged to an October wedding only to find
out Florida lost to Kentucky during the reception he says he was not exactly a happy man during the
electric slide and so you're thinking you know just watch the game on your phone diehard fans
say nope they say that they think it's more rude to be in the corner glued to your phone than just
you know going home and sending them a gift so guy what do you think is this rude to have a wedding
in football season I'm just trying to figure out why he wasn't line dancing and doing the electric
slide but uh I'll leave that one alone I'll say this I think it really boils down to what college
one attended uh for me I attended the University of Alabama roll tide you know we have championships
galore uh and so it's a big deal uh with regard to you know my friends and everyone that I attended
college with those that are now getting married or have gotten married so if you attended perhaps
a school where that wasn't necessarily the focus then yeah who cares get married on whatever day
that happens to be same thing with the commanders if you're a big commanders fan don't do it on a
Sunday when Jaden Daniels is doing his thing and so I think it all just really boils down to
what school you attended and uh how invested you are in that program yeah because I'm SEC as well
I mean I'm a game cock so we lose a lot more than you know when I was in school Alabama
so remember I'm not a die-hard sports fan when I tell you what I'm about to say which is like
don't give up on life moments just for for sports I know sports gives you a lot of life moments and
people probably will remember uh like that Hail Mary pass that Jaden Daniels threw versus their
nuptials or their cousins nuptials or whatever like that but I just think those moments with
your family because they always say when you're at a wedding or funeral this is oh I'm finally
around my loved ones we're all together so I don't think people should give up on those moments just
for a one Saturday you know a football game or totally I mean we went to a wedding in Detroit
uh one of Joey's family and there were multiple guys at the table that brought iPads to watch a
big rivalry game and at the end we heard through rumblings of the family of the bride and groom
were offended by this they weren't coming on the dance floor they weren't really dancing they were
very engaged those drinks though so really quick 10 seconds Anthony your thought yeah I think that
you know maybe football shouldn't be taken so serious but you know we kind of got to the guys
have their fun right and if you go to the wedding don't be on your phone the whole time yeah it's
just rude all right could someone who drinks state a person who is sober one woman online saying it
has was a no for her posting on threads she says I dated a man who didn't drink so every day he'd
be drinking water while I'm sitting there with my cocktail by date five I'm like no I can't do this
people in the comments were split some saying she was being unreasonable and childish others agreeing
with her some said that dynamic is ideal for them so Anthony what do you think I think that it can
be a little tough I mean if you indulge a very particular practice whatever that may be even if
you're a gym rat right and your partner doesn't go to the gym quite often I think that even that can
you know cause some rigidity in the space and so I think you should just kind of date with someone
who has some commonalities I mean I'm not mad at her for not wanting to you know converse with
someone who drinks but if you drink maybe it's okay for you to have a preference on somebody
who does for me this had to be has to be either a non-negotiable like this seems like a crazy
non-negotiable to me right like if I'm a super heavy drinker which I'm not like this shouldn't
be a big deal I don't know like have a mocktail with me if I'm having a cocktail I hope the sober
person would like rub off of them if they were a heavy drinker issue whatever like that but I
could see how it could cause issues in a relationship just like you know it's an extreme essentially
being a gym rat or not like wow one of you is getting healthy and thinking about appearance
and other things like that other one is like sitting on the couch you need a bag of potato
chips and not caring about their body or their health I get it and that I think if you're
thinking about it that way anything that you're opposed that you're you have opposing views on
can really cause issues in the relationship so you got to take a look at that yeah yeah that
becomes the deed for me designated driver yeah problem solved there you go you just drive his
own but I also think there's an energy factor in there and perhaps the person that is drinking is
probably uh I don't know exuding some different type of energy you know maybe doing a little bit
more whereas the other person that's not is you know is not doing that and so perhaps you got to
find a way to meet in the middle and or level up the person that isn't drinking well maybe that's
the time where you just try to match that energy where you all could still have fun and really it
comes down to what are you willing to compromise in a relationship right like there are so many
other factors you got to think about so if this is top priority for you then I get it just like
you were guys were saying about like the lifestyle or health that could be a non-negotiable depends
on the person our girl sunny uh she hasn't had a drink in like a decade or years and like she
had a lot of plans she wants you to have fun yeah and I hung out with her when she did
that was cloudy then
should you have a tv in your room it's a big debate it is heating up online those that say
no argue that they hate the light from the tv when they're sleeping others saying that it makes them
get out of bed on the other side people say they just can't sleep in darkness and silence
and they need it if they want to watch something that their kids can or rainy or sick days so
kenneth do you have a tv in your bedroom why are you in my bedroom
so i do and it's so funny i was just thinking i think i don't know maybe because kind of new dad
i i rarely turn it on these days uh and like sometimes i want to go and like i'll just turn
it on for like a few and i'll fall asleep or whatever like that but i understand the light
thing like i don't like any extra i don't leave the tv on when i'm sleeping or anything like that
i know people do uh because i don't want to wake up people i used to be on this overnight show on
another network and people go i think like i wake up to your voice all the time i'm like
that's bizarre and you hit me up on linkedin
but no like but if you want a team in your room have a team in your room or get it out because
i hear some other things can happen in that room like good sleep you know they say you're not
supposed to because it's supposed to be for sleeping and for intimacy or whatever but
you're like falling asleep on the couch i mean at least for me i'm like might as well be sleeping
in my bed versus like waking up at two in the morning on my couch anthony most definitely
and for myself i actually before i was with married and with my partner i used to live alone
for about seven years so being in that space uh that tv kind of filled the void for me trying to
have the light have the sound just something around to just make sure that you know your
mind is not racing while you're trying to sit in pitch black darkness trying to go to sleep so
for me i definitely think that it's okay to have it on i personally have a tv in every room in the
house i mean i just like entertaining i like to be entertained so turn the tv on why not yeah
i just feel guilty because i was one of the guys that would wake up at 4 a.m and
kenneth would be on that was me kidding i woke up to you every morning my man
my saying was i was on so you didn't have to be on
at this network and yeah i'm not watching that channel
i'll leave it at that i do have a tv in my room i have it on just for information i mean obviously
i always you know always have it on fox i want to know but it's a job thing you know i want to
know what you all are talking about at night and what i'm going to be talking about in the morning
uh but when it's time for bed i do shut it off i in my earlier years i would just leave it on
and fall asleep but it's somewhat distracting now and i don't think you can really knock tvs
when so many people late at night are on their phones like if you're not watching tv you're
sitting there scrolling or doing something probably worse so it's like right next to you
so i think that's even worse than a tv on yeah all right british english is crossing the pond
and americans seem to be loving it we're going to talk about that after a quick break
a new survey by online education platform preply found americans have a soft spot for
cheers tops the list
brilliant cheeky nick is in a twist jolly the study also found
one of three americans say britishisms are amusing or charming while just six percent
find them annoying so anthony what's your favorite do you do you find yourself using
any of these and can you do any uh no and the one that i like actually isn't on there isn't it
yes that that one is it's i i started watching the show top boy once upon a time and so i got
kind of used to all the euthanisms from that show and but if out of that list i probably
would choose cheers i'm all for it is that when we got that word from the british
i would know that's my favorite also i i think i've said this before i cannot understand british
accent so like i'll watch the show i need the subtitles because i'm like i don't know i don't
know what's happening for some reason it always sounds more sophisticated it does like instead
of saying like brilliant just sounds so much better right i i would say it's uh very posh
very posh that's that's my favorite uh what does that mean higher in i kind of
yeah something like that i also like that nicknickers thing i just think that's okay
yeah yeah yeah that's all i got fish and chips and you know you're very posh uh the way you dress
as are you my room your knickers are very posh
all right guys coming up poll results fighting love on linkedin we're going to check back in
on this see if it's moved it's moved a little bit if you got him on a boat got a couple minutes
right there qr card on the right we'll be right back
