How to Handle Heavy Background Jobs in Next.js using BullMQ & Redis

In this video, I’ll walk you through how to offload heavy processing in a Next.js application using BullMQ (a modern Node.js job queue) and Redis.

When building Next.js applications, running heavy or time-consuming tasks directly inside API routes can slow down response times and create a poor user experience. To solve this, we use BullMQ to create a background job queue and Redis as the storage and message broker.
