Douglas County coroner gets 180 day suspension

The Georgia Coroner's Training Council has voted to suspend Douglas County Coroner Renee Godwin for six months following an investigation into office mismanagement. The decision comes after years of allegations regarding unprofessional practices and poor communication with grieving families. Additionally, the council intends to decertify one of Godwin's top deputies, Carmen Chandler.
