Audrey Werro has done it again! 🇨🇭🔥 Just one day after falling in the women’s 800m semifinal, Werro returned to the track and produced a stunning performance in the European Athletics Championships final.
The Swiss star stormed to gold in 1:54.81, holding off Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson, who finished second in 1:55.01. Femke Broeders-Bol completed the podium in 1:55.54 with a national record.
But the biggest question remains: can Audrey Werro finally break Jarmila Kratochvílová’s legendary 1:53.28 world record, which has stood since 1983?
Werro has already run 1:53.98 in Stockholm and an incredible 1:53.80 in Paris this season, making her the third-fastest woman ever over 800m.
