George and Harriet Fulton called their home “Oakhurst.” Completed in 1877, this impressive Second Empire mansion featured ornate architectural details and conveniences that were remarkably advanced for the period—including gas lighting, central heating, and indoor plumbing with hot and cold running water.

During this visit, we’ll take a closer look at the mansion, its restored rooms, and the innovative features that helped make it such an extraordinary Texas home.
