New evidence reveals ancient Antarctica was warm & green

Evidence from sediment cores reveals that Antarctica was once a lush, temperate forest land approximately 90 million years ago. During the age of dinosaurs, the region supported a wet ecosystem with average annual temperatures around 12°C, far from the frigid tundra it is today.
