Pay rate approved for Houston airport employees

Houston Mayor John Whitmire has issued an executive order significantly increasing the wages and benefits for airport workers. Starting at $20 per hour, pay will incrementally rise to $23 by 2028. This initiative aims to improve the quality of life for essential staff, reduce employee turnover, and ensure smoother, safer operations for travelers at the airport.
