Pardoned Jan. 6 defendant found guilty of assault for touching woman's hair

Brian Bettencourt, a pardoned January 6th defendant, has been found guilty of simple assault after filming himself touching a woman's hair on a D.C. Metro train without her consent. The victim testified that the incident has left her feeling paranoid and exposed in public. Bettencourt faces up to 180 days in jail and is currently awaiting sentencing.
