DESPERATE HOURS / After a long stretch in prison, Larsan, 50, returns home and finds his wife wants nothing to do with him. In a fit of anger, he steals an S.U.V and drives through the California desert toward Mexico. When the car breaks down, Larsan, panicked, spots a better car and hijacks two teenage girls, Katie and Debra, who are driving it.
