The story of Ezekiel is the strangest, most cinematic prophecy in the Old Testament.

A thirty year old priest, dragged eight hundred miles east in chains, stares at a foreign canal in Babylon when the sky opens above his head. A throne. Four creatures. Wheels covered in eyes. From that day his body becomes the message. He lies on the ground for over a year. He bakes bread over cow dung. He shaves his head with a sword. His wife dies on the day Jerusalem's siege begins, and God forbids him to weep. He watches the Glory of God walk out of the temple, hears a survivor say four words about the city, and one day God leads him in vision to a valley of dry bones.
