NJ mayor says state police probe focuses on missing permit funds

New Jersey State Police spent several hours at Trenton City Hall on Tuesday investigating allegations of misconduct involving the city's Division of Inspections and Department of Housing and Economic Development, according to Mayor Reed Gusciora.

Gusciora said investigators removed boxes of evidence from City Hall during a search that lasted several hours. The investigation involves a former city employee and allegations of missing funds.

"We want to make it clear that we have zero tolerance for any kind of corruption, and that's why we made the referral," said Gusciora.
