Roman Pagan Blood Magic With Stone Age Roots

Ancient eastern traditions made their embassies in Rome in the form of temples to their local deities.

Especially in Late Antiquity Roman Empire (post Edict of Caracalla in 212 that made everyone a citizen within imperial & senatorial provinces). When the dust was settled from the 3rd Century Crisis, a new world with a major shift in the culture was now a reality. Although some of these eastern rites were brought to Rome as early as 200 BCE.

Some of the rituals absorbed by the Roman Imperial Cult made local Latins uneasy. Such as the orgiastic rituals of Cybele that involved castration, as well as the blood magic that had its roots in HUMAN sacrifice. Some of these rites had STONE AGE roots.
