Amaka, a woman who has spent ten painful years enduring insults, humiliation and rejection because Kunle’s family believes she is responsible for their childless marriage.
But Amaka knows the truth: Kunle is the one with the fertility problem. Kunle also knows, yet Amaka keeps his condition secret to protect his dignity and reputation. Even while Mama Ezinne repeatedly attacks and blames her, Amaka refuses to expose her husband.
Under increasing family pressure, Amaka and Kunle was forced by his mother (Mama Ezinne’) to CedarBloom for fertility screening. Desperate to have a child without allowing his family to discover the truth, Kunle secretly involves his close friend, Tunde. Tunde provides the fertility sample that is presented as Kunle’s own.
The plan becomes dangerous when questions arise over the sample and its connection to Kunle. Meanwhile, another family crisis unfolds when Nkem collapses and is discovered to be pregnant. Mama Ezinne learns that a village oracle deceived and abused Nkem under the pretence of carrying out a cleansing ritual. Furious, she confronts those responsible.
Amaka later becomes pregnant through but itvwas discovered tunde is responsible for it. Tunde panics and asks her to terminate the pregnancy, fearing the consequences if the truth is discovered. Amaka refuses. After ten years of protecting Kunle, carrying his shame and being blamed for a condition that was never hers, she decides to keep the child.
She plans to allow Kunle and his family to believe that the baby belongs to him.
By the end of Episode 8, the pregnancy appears to have ended Amaka’s years of humiliation—but it has also created an even more dangerous secret. The child everyone will celebrate as Kunle’s is biologically connected to Tunde, and the truth has the power to destroy the marriage, the friendship and the entire family.
