OTG heads deep into California's Eastern Sierra to take on the Mammoth Backcountry Discovery Trail (BDT), 360 miles of volcanic terrain, alpine passes, and forgotten mining history. Across 4 unpredictable days on the trail, the crew weathers a surprise snowstorm, navigates volcanic tufflands, craters, and obsidian domes, and soaks in the geothermal hot springs of Hot Creek before pushing up into the Sweetwater Range to attempt one of the highest drivable roads in California. Along the way, we dig into the rich history of the Chemung Mine, stand on the shores of Mono Lake, and wander the empty streets of the legendary ghost town of Bodie.

Released in 2026, the Mammoth BDT is one of OTG's newest routes, and it's shaping up to be an instant classic in the High Sierra.
